yep, afer you research a few things you can design your own on the research page, look in the manual for more description.

You can research new ships as KOT says however, most ships invented by new players get shot down because of inexperience. It takes some time to get to know the currently available ships and thier capabilities. Also, maintaining a balance between the races is critical to fair game play and a ship that gives an "edge" to a perticular race is usually disallowed. Also, new ships have to be vulernable to some other existing ship for the same reasons outlined above.
Do not be disappointed if your invention gets shot down but as you progress in experience, you will be better able to see what makes it and what does not and the reasons why.

| inventing of ships is possible after researching some (4 to 10) technologies. you will see a "request a research" form. |
