well SpaceTrace channel in IRC has been re-registerd it seems that Case, DarthMother and JaM left. Same happend to TotalOwnages channel to. Although i have re-registerd that into my founding name so when TO comes back its there waiitng for them!
Malice has asked me to do a poll on the forums, about chanserv operators i was hoping that i could be one of them and maybe having a few others, i have started accesign IRC again after alongtime due to my motherboard going etc...

Maybe a bit late in reaction, i still have IRC admin rights on the forum but i lost every right since the channel switched to another server.
I know Darthmother picked it up from there but he seems to be inactive aswell, i have him on msn but cant reach him there either.
He is the one that must have the "founder - password" which is needed in order to create a new "operator" hierarchy.
However since he is gone it might be a nice idea to get malice to fix things like this however its not me to decide about this but since ive been channel owner and operater for quite some time i thought id react.
The "IRC moderators" topic on this forum is dead aswell, everybody who has rights to post there has vanished lol the last messaged posted there was actually mine quite some time ago.
For operators e.g. im still available for some "operating" stuff so if u think im needed just mail me.

SC, I visited the IRC, How do I create a login? I did not see that option anywhere. It automatically made me "Anonymous"

when you are in the channel you just type: /nick .....
where in the dots u fill in whatever name you want and press enter, ur name will be changed.
If you want a fixed nickname you should register your nick first, you do that the following way:
/msg nickserv register PASSWORD EMAIL (offcourse you fill in ur own password and email, the password can be anything u want)
but that way you will have to type: /msg nickserv identify PASSWORD
(where password is ur own password again)
every time u log in within 60 secs i believe.
If you dont use an applet of yourself it can be possible that u wont get ur preffered name standard and you will have to change it after u logged in.
Hope i helped u enough this way, if you want to do more with the chat u can better download an applet like mIRC or trillian e.g. instead of using the one provided by spacetrace, the programs i mentioned are both free to download.

sorry about the reregister gorth my fault really but we needed to reregister seens as no-one owned the channel after malice sold the rights too dark-future and dark-future abandoned us  so i made one of the dark-future guys reregister it i think evans somehow ended up with op not sure how that happened though  anyway whoever the op is just tell em u rule all and and make them give u op  if not evans try spacecadet i think he had op too

when try it gives me the following :
[10:25] Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection refused: connect

I've been booted as well !
I use firefox and been also having probs with browser windows not opening or rather, the program runs but nothing comes up on the screen and i cannot close it down except by rebooting. This only happens when I could use IRC a few days ago. |

no seriously now i had this problem a while ago what i suggest you do is contact the op of the chatroom and get him/her to unban you, that is if it is a ban problem like you think but i think the conection refused may mean that

I have internet explorer and Firefox always use firfox and i never get logged onto IRC
with internet explorer I get on IRC in no time
so use internet explorer for the IRC if you have it
