I believe it should be possible to set the warp speed at your own need.
For example I travel in TWG i should be able so set the speed to warp 8 if this suits me better then warp 15
All of course within the limits of your max warp speed

That would be more realistic, the engine doesnt have to be at full power. _________________

I voted "YES".
When I'm going to be off line for 12 hrs and my fleet is on route to opponent and it takes 8 hrs...I want to slow it down.
Inversly, I may want to set a slow speed directly to an opponent and let him see my arrival time. 4 hours into the trip, I'll speed it up and arrive sooner than my opponent anticipates.
Of course, he can also do that to me.
Hmmmm.......maybe I'll change my vote to "NO". It certainly adds more possibilities and complexities to the game. |

It would only be allowed to set the wanted warp speed at the begin, accelerating halfway is just another dirty trick. _________________ Nulla poena sine lege.. |

maybe there could be drawbaks to using full power like the engine may malfunction i mean most people want to travel as fast as they can _________________ "Although the constant shadow of certain death looms over everyday, the pleasures and joys of life can be so fine and deeply affecting that the heart is nearly stilled by astonishment" - Dean R Koontz |

LOL...this game is over 90% "dirty tricks". I hate it when someone pulls a dirty trick and slips a spectre into a fleet I thought was destroyers.
Dirty tricks is what keeps it interesting....
I love it when someone comes up with a new "dirty trick".
Can't wait to try it out on someone else... hahaha.
Some tricks are more dirty than others though, and I will admit , this one don't rank near the top like empty base bashing would.
All still legal though..... |

no, cause spacetrace should be playable easily even if you are not online.
when you see incomings in lets say 6 hours, and you think, thats enough time to go swimming and come back in time for the battle, then it wouldnt be fair, if the speed suddenly accellerates from warp 1 up to warp 8 and the battle happens in 45 minutes when you are still at the beach.
it is better the way it is now |

I meant when you start , you set a warp speed it shouldn't be possible to change speed during flight only at the begin .

no, it would spoil some of the fun |

You are quite right admin although I see what Conner is trying to do and if it could be implimented without the possibility for abuse, it would be a great idea.
Actually, it would make the game more friendly towards logging in on occassion (Occassional players) to check-in, plan attack that suits thier sched easier rather than having to spend time on-line to catch a battle when it's not convenient.
Moving the game in that direction could attract more part-timers looking for games that are not too time sensitive.
One of my attractions to the game was not having to spend as much time as some other games to be competetive. Although the time needed to learn the game can be quite intense, after that, it's almost managable . |

To bad it can't be implemented , I would have liked it .
how about only set your warp speed in TWG between 5 and 15 warp , if you stop here you can only travel on at warp 5
for example : I start in TWG and need to get out of TWG after 6 hours but I need to work or go to school for 8h I will be way passed that point .But if I travel at warp 10 I will be at that point after 8 h instead of 6 h

there could be a possibility to limit your motherships worpcores, so they only fly at a lower warp until they are destroyed or recycled. |

I think timing and planning is a better idea, if you want to delay your eta, lol, simple enough...delay your departure _________________ "Destruction leads to a very rough road

Is building a special C4 ship possible?
Like a Pirate Flagship has a cloaking device, could a C4 ship have a " thrust" limiter that could be turned on ?
Once the limiter is activated, it is set forever at that speed or until recycled ? |

we could add it, so you can only adjust the speed just to syncronize with another fleet nearby that is slower than your fleet |

then the two fleets would still need to be on the same vector, right? would it be possible to have fleets sync up automatically that are really close, but dont share the vector. that would be soo nice |

then your fleet would have to change the target coordinates too, and that would give you the possible target coordinates of the other fleet.
so we cannot do that.
maybe change the course of your fleet to a target that is 5 sectors away and nearly the same vector like the other fleet? |
