the new battlesimulator is placed on a planet:
Planet Nanosource: 470/497/46

you have to fly there with a fleet then you will find a button there to start the battlesimulator.

this way only one player at a time can use the simulator (cause it creates a lot of CPU-Power on the server)

The Simulator consists of five simulated players (each race one player) that are positioned directly next to each other.
the speed in the simulator is 1000 times as fast as in the game, so ships are built in seconds and fleets between the simulated players are fast. and ships are not destroyed after battle, so: you see the battlereport, but the ships are still there afterwards

Not what i was waiting...But it was obious that doing a good battle simulator will take the CPU down...at least is done, so congratulations for that...Now it seems we have a new planet that gives pts...because the battles there would be amazing

@KOT...obioulsy you cant...read again...there are 2 players that fight each other, you are not one of them...if those players (CPU's one) earn pts it dosnt matter either

Jeez Rubens...your right...I better divert as I was going to have a look with a really small fleet.
Guess I better get a DSP on it first

This thing sounds really cool...I hope there is not a big lineup...I want to try it out !

Well Admin..you and the "team" have outdone yourselves. I could spend a few hours at the Sim easily just playing with it. I see incomings so I can't stay but to anyone using it, I think it will be a popular place for many new players. It's the cat's a.ss ....that's for sure.
Far more versatile than I expected.

Great Work
Anyone coming in better scan before hand and I'll bet a flying saucer or scout would do the job as nicely as a full fleet. Full fleets invite points hunters and most of us are indeed that!

If the fleets come in on defence, is it possible to have more than 1 player at a time using it?

I said that that was pretty obvious. Just so someone wouldnt ask the question.

Good observation Senor. You just tugged on a memory string that I thought I also observed in my breif visit to the Sim back when it was first installed.
I'm sure there were some combo's of cross tech I wanted to try but couldn't despite the combo being available in regular game play.

Rather than start a new topic, I'll continue in this one and propose the question " Have you ever wondered what would happen if a pirate ship met with a doomstar?"
I suspect whoever fired first would win however, my primary question is, can there be a streamlined version of the battle engine available to anyone at any time, in a format similar to the TTC ?

The battle simulator is a wonderful tool but way too cumbersome to use (dedicated fleet slot) if you want to try a quick combo. Something quick that can be used during regular play. "What happens when a troika meets a graze reactor?".
I suppose part of the fun of the game is figuring out good combo's to use but ATM, it takes a long time to figure out good fleet stacks.

I think it would add to the enjoyment of the game by allowing another aspect of the "fleet stack process" part of the game but mostly I want it to try simple 1 vs. 1 combo's to help me try to build some new stacks.

the main problem is, that the coding for the battles is so complex, that it is hard to extract it to a separate function.

but we will try something

I have played(and am still playing) a game like this.Well 2(I have allot of time on my hands ) And they both have a simulator that is also on a separate site. I will post the links.

http://www.si-master.com/sim

and:http://www.toolsforogame.com/battle/simuladorbatalla.aspx?idi=en-us

they are both pretty complex games(not as complex as this one mind you) and maybe you can make something like these sims. You can probably randomize something like it.

Would it be at all possible to make the off-market tech's available in the simulator? As it is now, you can only play around with ships that you can build, not ones you have to pick up from a pre-warp. How about adding those techs to a planet @ 899/900/900 so the battle sim accounts can pick them up, or something like that. I have so many questions about all those off-market ships but I can't experiment with them as they are now, without a whole lot of hassle and risk.
