I voted for the rounds because...
I heard about the rounds and it seem very interesting to get a score in a certain amount of time. In evo 10 points dont matter but in rounds they can make a difference between the number one spot or the second one. _________________ Take your weapons soldiers! We march to battle! I vote for rounds for a number of reasons (see in "Is everyone leaving ST topic"). I had the chance of playing enough in both rounds and evo, and I think rounds are deffinately the best way to play ST.
I too will be happy to help in any way I can in the round-administration as well - just gimme the task which needs automation _________________ _____________________________________________

Somebody voted for evo yet remained hidden... Come on, ppl, if you like evo, say at least WHY, that's the idea of this poll - not just vote, but say WHO you are and WHY do u vote for rounds/evo...
Do I smell admin? _________________ _____________________________________________

I voted for rounds but there must be some reason why the admin changed it in the first place ..... _________________ Follow the blood and you will find me!

@Rubens, 10x for reminding me of that topic, I forgot it existed "Eras"... hahaha just *blowing some smoke* - didn't happen, won't happen. A good idea... that "almost made it".
I sincerely hope noone decides to start talking here about the "Era" idea - there's NO POINT in doing it.
It'll just dilute the topic. Like it did back then.
Well, admin lays out there his, erm, reasons - the most, erm, reasonable is the: "it's more realistic to be born in an already developed universe".
Truth is, he wanted to make a completely hands-off approach to the server, if possible, never to touch it at all. But there's a saying - "a man either does something, or he doesn't do it".
There could be months of discussion on: "Awww, poor n00bs, that join a week b4 the round ends" - it happened to me, so what? I had only one battle in the round I joined, except the s.ucking in the BH bit. Still am here, am I not? For now anyway.
Or: Hah, now you want rounds - you'll get 'em, then you'll scream "We want evo!" - yet evo was literally *dropped from above* - there was no discussion on the topic.
There could be months of discussion on any *anti-round/pro-evo* topic, with advantages, realism, whatever.
But stats speak for themselves - rounds:400-600 players. Evo: 190 players. It was nice to read "page built in 30 secs" under the fleets screen.
And also, old players who had the chance to be around when rounds were here, are pro-round. And new players, who just read of them, without even having experienced them, as well... Weird, huh? _________________ _____________________________________________

I think there were a lot of innovations in the round system, not from the admin-, but from the player-side. They always came up with new alliance concepts, like SM Inc., and tried to give that round their stamp.
And its easier to bring players to the game - old and new ones. Why's that? Old players might join for a round and a competition, and its possible to post some game news at the advertisement sites in the web (the ones which list online games) like "New Round starts soon, join Spacetrace now!".
Whatever, I'm inactive, but I think I'll come back when we've got rounds again. |

I 100% agree, Tweety... Even to the extent of thinking of indeed going *bye-bye, ST*, until rounds are reintroduced. (That's what I had in mind with "for now, anyway").
Truth is, if I didn't suddenly have a truly huge ammount of time to kill, I wouldn't 've registered at all.
@Evans - you should check somewhere the date of which you joined ST (or an estimate) - try IRC logs, forum subscription etc. to get an estimate, and, in "Game updates" you can see when the last round ended _________________ _____________________________________________

ok ill take alook and thanks metody.
well im at school at the moment just on the pcs my other freinds are thinking about joining spacetrace lol.
And with rounds aswell like tweester said that you would have to try and compete against the other players and also compete against other alliances, to try and make your name and alliances name well known for that round! _________________ APEmpire |

The thing is though we might be doing all this but if the admin disagrees the admin disagrees after all it is him who has to do all the programming. _________________ APEmpire |
