here is a feature list we made for promoting spacetrace. pls help me with the spelling and further suggestion.

game structures:
  • real-time in seconds
  • 3D spatial with floating point vector calculations
  • transit times average > 5 hours
  • simple vacation mode without drawbacks
  • playability also without constant online presence
  • balanced game play: basic ship-types are strong and reliable
  • 5 unique races, which are well balanced
  • an equal limit on game resources for all players
  • multiple accounts are banned and impractical anyway
  • originality: even experienced players are often surprised by creative new fleet set-ups and tactical uses of the various available ships


fleets and ship manoeuvres
  • 1 home-base and 3 fleets
  • each fleet needs a mothership to move (which contains the warp-drive)
  • it can be travelled at high speed through wormholes and the alliance-network transwarp-gates
  • fleets can be tactically fine tuned: every ship is important
  • fleets can be cloaked
  • 3D-Map (scroll/zoom/rotate...)
  • players can install new wormhole portals on their own, that stay even over the lifespan of that player


alliances
  • alliances with voted leaders
  • alliance offices: minister of communication, minister of war, flag commander
  • alliance war with capture the flag
  • alliance jump gates
  • conquer colonies
  • mobile alliance jump gate
  • alliance espionage /sabotage
  • war against big/successful alliances is worthy


probes
  • 11 different probes, scanning for: planet coordinates, other probes, fleet constellations, planet surfaces, hyperjump targets and probes for scrambling, decloaking, relay stations for scan vessels
  • coordinates will be saved in clearly arranged lists which can be transmitted easily to other players


production and research
  • over 200 different researches
  • complex tech-tree
  • players can make own inventions which can be placed on neutral planets
  • automated production


space battles
  • battles are resolved without need of being online
  • battles between groups of any number of attackers and defenders possible
  • tactical dexterity: good players can challenge 4 or more attackers and win against them , not because of more resources , just because of tactical experience
  • sabotage of probes/production etc. with ground troopers possible


communication and more
  • in-game-mailing
  • forum
  • IRC
  • Wiki
  • extended statistics
  • news magazine
  • possibility to include own javascripts
  • planet description with picture and homepage
  • homepage awards
  • sound packages for download
  • different game interfaces
  • translated into over 15 languages German, Spanish, Polish, Finish and many more


newbie help etc.
  • video tutorial
  • newbie wizard
  • FAQ
  • extensive, dynamically extending manual
  • newbie- helper
  • defensive battle station for newbies
  • start with preconstructed fleets
  • ships that can be found on neutral planets will give starting players tactical power

i only changed this:

admin...under "game structures" the word "rescource" should be "resources" in the sentance
"an equal limit on game rescource for all players."

in between i think the list became too long allready - consider that a well constructed deck consists of 60 cards
