new design

the nav bar was designed new some time ago.. how about a new background ? I think I have some fantastic ideas and possibilities to make some great thing this green thingy somehow doesn't fit into my imagination of a space ...

hmm, how do you think about that ?

we wanted to do that also, but we just can`t find the time for it.

if you like, you can send us a new background, and maybe already cut it into 4 fitting pieces (for the frames)

uhm, 1024 As i think, right ? but as I think the old frames can't be seen anymore, how big have they been ? maybe we could just implent something in the preferences so that you can choose your resolution ?

edit: Oh okay, I thought there was a screen that said " end of round " but i can see the frames now yes .. okay, that problem solved .. but how about resolution option ?

i think we should make the background a bit greater than it was.

1154x864 is used sometimes.

(it doesent matter if this is too large, because the screen adapts if you have less)

okay I tried a first bit, but I didn't really think about it .. on a later version I would add an Andromeda-shadow and some kewl thingy *g* maybe make it like a fight, so add some shots etc.

the quali is very bad, just for imagination

yes andromeda sounds nice

i think we should not use other pictures from the game and it must be small jpegs (max 40KB for all 4 parts together) except the background behind the navigation could be better quality, because it is only loaded once

hmm that sounds difficult, 40 kb for all .. but I will try that ... and you want no ships, explosions, shots at all ?

I suggest to make it look like a cockpit some cables hanging around etc...

How about a "picture" of the black hole as it is the centre of universe?
Maybe if you put this detail in the middle:

bh in the middle ? Yes, Andromeda will be that .. and like a cockpit ? I could do that, but as the admins said, not everyone has DSL, so we need to keep the space low *g*

the symbols are helping a lot in the manual - have a look at the techtree
if you press the symbols you see the tree with only the researchable researches of that race
