No dosnt mean that
Wouldnt be more usefull that you send the infromation to your allies? One player is going to pay the probe slot and the others no?.It is useless |

No, this is very unbalanced, although an alliance-probe page would be interesting. _________________ Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius.

This probe with a bigger alliance can be helpful each alliance member doesnt have to send probe in attacking situations, keeps all allies informed.Alliance of 5 or six members say going after black hole each member would need probe there, thats 5 or 6 probes need when 2 could be used instead, that leaves alliance 3 or 4 free proes slots open for other missions. |

This invention would be no help to a 1 or 2 man alliance. A 3 person alliance and up , the probe gets more valuable. Perhaps some sort of modifier can be added to balance the advantage over a single or 2 player team ? |

it is a nice idea.
this probe is not such a big advantage, cause an alliance can share the data anyway through alliance messages, so i think such a big disadvantage like two slots is not needed.
actually this probe would redcuce traffic on the spacetrace server.
the only disadvantage should be, that the player with the probe needs to be online to have the data been seen by the other members.
(maybe with an activation button htat lasts only for an hour) |

Due to the wide variance in timezones among players around the world, making probe data available only when a player is online almost negates the probes usefullness.
If all members of an alliance were in similar timezones, this would be ok however, if some alliance members are located in Austrailia and other members are in North America, due to the extreme difference in timezones, the probe would be useless. The players may never be online together or even within an hour of each other.
Perhaps we can work something out where only the CoW can build this probe and make data available at any time or anyone can build but only the CoW or a designate receives the data. This second option though also defeats the purpose of the probe and many alliances will continue to have each player send in thier own DSP.
Perhaps a new position could be considered within an alliance for instance a Minister of Information or maybe even the MoC who actually can only build this probe and then resend data automatically to alliance members.
Having real time info for instance at the BH is critical to determining what type and when you send in your fleet(s). |

yeah, i live in Australia and i think that T2 has the right idea almost noone is on at the same time as me , makes it hard when someone attacks, dont usually get much time to prepare. _________________ Follow the blood and you will find me!

it would be a disadvantage with 2 slots perhaps we can think of another way too balance it out somet like it cant go that far away from home or its slow or it cost manpower or somet like that _________________ "Although the constant shadow of certain death looms over everyday, the pleasures and joys of life can be so fine and deeply affecting that the heart is nearly stilled by astonishment" - Dean R Koontz |

No, you can just send the message to your allies instead of it doing it for you, its ok though _________________ 11/11/11 |
