some users complained that the voting in the New inventions didnt work

I have used both url's admin and I cannot vote in any of those topics.

I think it has something to do with the rights of the normal users to vote

Ok it was a permission issue. Only moderators could vote in the forum 'New Technology Inventions', I took the liberty to change that to registered users. So now it should be solved
