Problem is: run google for 10 minutes and you will need to run Spybot-Search and Destroy for about 1 hour afterwards...

I really hate google and thier tactics.

Renee: You're talking about getting spyware from google?
Can't imagine them using it. Just too easy getting caught, and they have a reputation to lose

What I am talking about is this Result of using google (which attempted to load the toolbar back on to my pc as well) then running search and destroy...

Advertising.com 1 entry
Avenue A, inc 1 entry
Double Click 2 entries
Fast Click 1 entry
MediaPlex 1 entry
Hit Box 2 entries
Zedo 1 entry

time elapsed (27:50)
search and destroy labels these as "tracking cookies to report on sites the user visits, search words entered" (possibly passwords and finacial info entered as well).

All spybots and all getting the boot NOW !!! Adios

Elimination done (took 5 seconds) And that just "upgraded" my "8088" back into a 3.2 ghz, 2 gig ram Lenova notebook pc

cookies are harmless, cause they don`t do anything on your pc.
they only contain information about your surfing in the net.
these advertising cookies can give the advertizers information about other pages , you visited too, nothing more.

if you don?t want tracking cookies, install firefox with adblock+

or just enable in your cookie preferences, "ask everytime"

if you run spybot, you should empty your cookies and internetcache before, cause then spybot is much faster and finds only the real enemies

If I'm not mistaken, this does not work anymore.

Just bringing this up, because the thread is sticky.
