you have to recycle ships to get the manpower free to build new other ships when you want to change your strategy or your remaining ships do not make any usefull fleet anymore.
you can ast newbie-helpers in the game (yellow star) they will answer all your questions

Admin, u are the first one in this topic who says it clearly.
It indeed is useless when u build the same ships again...............duh!
But if u want to change your fleet setup, recycle and get a full mp fleet.

It isnt. It would be f*cked up when u lose it with recycling. Cause then either u run out of mp, or u lose points before u can build new ships.
So it is a good tool for this game captain
