its not good if you want to "grow" see "is that game like planetarion" in "n000be help".

abandoned planest cant be inhabitated as the player owning it might log in again and surely not want to see someone else there

but maybe there could be something done with those not inhabitat planets?
like building transwarp gates there or shipyards (those with low lp and lots of pointsloss if destroyed-so they are risky)
or even move the whole planet ("i dont want to be anymore where i am") - taking alot of time ofcourse...

i think that's a good idea if you want to start a trek through the galaxy.
maybe it should be possible to build outposts on these planets where you can build some of your technologies to keep supplies coming to your fleets.

we will think about this

it would be great! moving the own planet to another coord. that will bring much movement in this nice game and new strategic possibilities.

Yes, I like the idea too.
Then allies can move close together and form a though defensive block.
(At the moment I think i'ts rather difficult to defend)

hi all,
i´m not quite sure if i would like having this option...i mean at least i don´t like thinking of having the chance to move planets over and over.
moving the planet should be limited either to the length of each round or possibly u should only be able to move it once every 14 days....something like that yeah.

...or you just have the possibility to move your planet 20 or 40 sectors. less then 20 sector should be allowed, more not.

moving a whole planet doesent sound real.

outposts for production on uninhabited planets are much nicer i think

Yes simply being able to build a transwarp on an abandoned planet should be sufficient

there are two thingys:

a) having some kinds of outpost at untaken planets ( not abandoned - i think there is still an owner which might claim his planet back when relogging in ??):

those are production yard and transwarp gate.
--> a special constructor ship will be needed to build or reconstruct these buildings.
--> those buildings have less lp than those at home.
--> to make it risky to spread in this way there should be a big loss of points be connected with losing them.
(e.g. -750 pts for a transwarp and -2500 pts for a production... - maybe those should be prepayed even though i didnt get the necessarity of prepaying yet..)
--> maybe you can build more then one of these regardless of your points - but building takes mp.. those workers dont get into the building so they are free after finishing it but they are not available while building. the building time should be considerably long and should grow with each exemplar if more than one is allowed...)

b) second is moving the whole planet.
i dont think you actually move your planet but abandon your old one and chose a new one.
--> you have to build a colonisation ship which takes all your mp. this ship travels with warp 1 and needs 2d building time.
at the new planet you start with no buildings and have to reconstruct them as if you were shot (but dont lose points of course)
> so you wont move all the time but maybe once or twice.
maybe these efforts are too hard but it is easier to make them easier it is just to show you how hard moving could be made.
--> the advantage is that you can - i f you like form a block within you alliance or get into new areas of the galaxy...

Maybe we could just build the transwarps on pre warp worlds
