This is what the manual says:
---------------------------------------------
->
the enemy has only destroyers (10/10) and you have some destroyers and shield generators, the enemy would kill any
ship with a single shot. that means the sg would have no effect.
-> the enemy has eagles (2/10) and you have some destroyers and some sg. in this case the eagles would not kill your
destroyers with one shot, that means that your sg will detect the impacts and would save some of your destroyers (
they are really invincible after the shield appears; for that battle)
the same would happen if the enemy has fighters (1/1)
----------------------------------------------
In my battle report this happens:
2002-06-29 04:03:38
your fleet 1 fights against the base from xxxx at xxx/yyy/zz
29.06 04:03:33 - your fleet arrived
yours: 174 ships
class 1:
55 mine-deployer (0/1)
class 2:
1 destroyer (10/10)
101 missile-launchers (0/10)
2 disable ships (0/10)
class 3:
...
class 4:
...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
enemy: 14 ships
class 1:
2 interceptors (0/1)
class 2:
6 shield generators (0/2)
5 missile-launchers (0/10)
class 3:
...
class 4:
buildings:
...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
your class 1 vs enemy class 1:
53 mines deployed
2 interceptors intercept 4 ships
Losses:
You :
4 mine-deployer
Enemy :
-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
your class 2 vs enemy class 2:
3 missiles launched
2 disable ships affect all cruisers
and all commando-fighter
and all missile-launchers
1 destroyer vs 1 missile-launcher
29 mines explosion detected
3 shields generated
1 missile launched
Losses:
You :
-
Enemy :
3 missile-launchers
3 shield generators
53 mines
...
1. Why did only 29 mines explode, although I deployed 53?
2. Why didn't they destroy all ships? The mines deal 10 damage to an enemy ship, don't they? |

Well, I think your enemy was quite lucky.
Of his 64 class 2 ships (53 mines,6 shield generatores and 5 missle launchers) 5 (3 shield and 2 missle launchers) of them followed another ship and not a mine, so they didn't got exploded. Also not all mines exploded from themself, as some of them got blown up by other mines.
So 29 mines blew up 6 of his ships and 23 mines. (the last mine only blew itself up and therefore isn't added to the BR?) |

Ok, but why did some mines count as his ships and some as mine? I think this is unlogical... |

As you drop the mines in his fleet, they all count as his ships. |

I have never had any success with mine deployers mine either get shot or deploy mines which dont go off.
If anyone could tell me the correct way to use em I would most gratified. |
