that better. it only covers a 100 unit diameter circle. even that can not hold enough of a scan radius to get all the coor, even combined with the other probes in this game. i could give you the mathmatical formula that will show this. but that will take a few minutes and i wont do it unless requested.

Its still too freakin powerful. That is a rediculous probe, honestly, there's no need for it. If you're a nOOb, you take your licks like everyone else, eventually (if you're smart) you'll find a strategy that helps you gain back some points and then you learn how to prep better. NO ONE is supposed to be able to come into this game and do exceedingly well right off the bat. Even vets have trouble sometimes. It just takes time, so be patient and you'll get there, it will feel a whole lot better when you WORK at being good.

You must understand, the strongest probe in the game (i think ) is the Wide range scan probe, which has a scan radius of 17 sectors.
Now, i dont know if you have ever used such a probe, but you will find that almost every time you use one you will getnew coords.
However the drawback of this probe is the fact that it is only warp2.

You have to understand, most of the time the furthest person away from you will be about 6000ly with THIS probe you would instintly get all coords within 5000ly!

That is crazy my friend, ridiculous.
Please. I suggest that you go back and play the game for another bit, perhaps a few weeks.

Read the forum (at least the useful parts ) and go on irc!
This way you will get more experience by talking to the veterans.
For example, you have now created more ideas than me and i have been playing since April (And i am still not a vet )
So please as Maverick said! You need to WORK to become better at this game.....

And that must never EVER mean multiple accounts

Thank you,
Methi

the question is, how do those who have started later get a hand on the game if they join an alliance they have an obligation to those with them. besides im a master at any stratagy game put in front of me. the only problems in this game is the lack of resorces, the lack of ability to gain more resorces, and the fact that others started before me and are better equiped to follow through their campaigns. i only have a fixed amount of mp and cant get much for it. besides all this does is give you more info. it doesnt attack and destory everything, thats what fleets are for.

when you start an account on this game you have so many days before you reach 100% evlution aslo known as a game over. Their is no starting later in this game. When the top players that are doing well reach 100% evolution they have to start all over to. if you want peoples cords you can get them from other players. if you want a bigger destrutive force join an allaince and work togahter.

The reason you have a set mp is so those players that have a higher evolution can not just wipe you out. this game revoles complety around stategy.

There you go admin... people loves the
@silent1
IT IS NOT a game where you growth your resources....like
http://www.games.swirve.com/earth and others... that is why it is bad called strategy, you maybe are good in RPGs games but this is real strategy. Here everybody has almoust the same mp, the players CAN NOT get more mp in anywhere. You can have ideas, but plz try to end an account and then say them...Just let those ships and rules owns you a little bit more.
Iin this evolution style you are not disadvantage because the top players can have more research than you, but all th fleets can be beating by standards one, like cruseir, fighters, MS and destroyers.

PS i havent find that fleet yet.. maybe there a few ones out there.

and yet if you look at the human mental capabilities and how wars have been fought through out time there is a need for new and better weapons and advances in abilities. that is the need most on the war path require to continue their lives. plus you guys are making it sound as if you were really going to get killed in this game. its not like im asking to have this weapon/ship for myself, for i prefer peace and covert-ops, this will be open to 3 of the 5 races. is it really that bad to have such technology?

Yes this tech provide way to much intelligence which we otherwise have to work for.
This game is balanced, it's not the guy with the most resources who wins, or the largest fleets.
All Players start with around the same amount of MP and it does not grow over time, the only thing you can advance in is research. But after a time of about 3 months play you will reach 100% and if you want to continue to play you will have to start at zero again.

so people with all varieties of evolution status are flying around. This makes it easier for new guys, since they don't have to face large empires with tremendous resources, and even if an ennemy is on his top of research, then u are sure he will soon vanish.

But it is not about that in this game, you can beat someone who has the longest researches with standard ships. This game is truly about strategy, and how to use your ships in the right way, about knowing your ennemy and try to predict what he has. About thinking of different strategies when other ones failed.
It's PURE strategy this game. And to be honost, just having the most resources maybe make u win a war, but it does not make u a strategy genius, so that is what is different here. Here u all have the same resources, only the best strategy wins.

Hopes this answers your questions, if you want to know why your ships aren't balanced for this game. If you notice every ship has his counter, and every race aswell. In this way you can never have a perfect fleet setup capable of killing everything, someone can always stand up against u. This sharpens the mind in my opinion, if you do not like to play it this way, then please go back to a game where you can build "kill everything in it's path" ships, and "provide all the info i need in a sec" intelligence equipment.

Greets

but have you been in some of the bigger battles of this game? they have 1500 fighters 200 destroyers 100 cruisers and about 3 mother ships for some reason. ive been besieged by a force about that big. i may be of by about 250 fighters and 25 of the other ships. that was not that long ago eather. i was helping someone else being besieged at the time and i lost all but my defence array in one battle.

anyway this probe doesnt give more power to the person that has it. it just gives them more info. its their choice what to do with it. how can knowing the coor of a person be bad? if it is then we should not have probes at all and shoot into the dark while hoping you hit something.

and the last question is how do you know when to attack someone? there is no way to know when they are their weakest or there strongest. this is not a game of stratagy, its a game of chance and random numbers drawn up by the network. besides im tired of the games where i beat the snot out of them. besides you can never have enough info.

NO!

Probes are used to get coords, without coords you do not have an army, this probe is too powerful! That is why nobody wants it! it is too good and thus not balanced.

As for not knowing if someone is strong it is easy, you send a DSP to their base and you can see how many ships they have, then you know whhen to attack.

Look man! The people have spoken this is a crap invention! So just let it drop.
Please!

I agree with methi. I can't believe we've spent so long discussing this invention. It's WAY too powerfull. Since probes don't use mp, they should all be about the same level of usefulness. There is no need to know coorcinates of people so far away, because then you have to travel 3 days to get to the base. Who would bother doing that? Please Admin, close this topic now!
