Right there i was, in bed last night but as alot of you know i have insomnia.
So i said to myself " i really need to play spacetrace"

Now unfortunately, the hummming noise that my computer makes is terrible and would be heard by my parents so that was out of the question.....

But suddenly! An idea struck me!
I wonder if i could play spacetrace on my phone?
So i got up my phone, went on the internet,, got into google and texted in spacetrace.
However unfortuantely, it is impossible to login and all that can be read on forum is something like:

NAV STATISTICS
The newest member is silent 1

that is it.

Admin i need to know, is it possible to play spacetrace on the inteernet on a mobile phone?
If so what am i doing wrong that will not allow it to play?

If not, Can you make it possible to play on a mobile phone?

Perhaps, Admin if you could make a dumbed down version of Spacetrace for the mobile, maybe you can only the essentials, fleet, research, comlist.
And possibly forum for the good old spammers like myself

So Admin Can you help us?

i thought it would work.

were you able to see the small checkbox next to the login fields on the start page at http://www.spacetrace.org ?
if you mark this box, you should be able to use it. but it will s´till be a lot to scroll , cause on most pages, there
is a lot of text, that doesent fit on the small mob phone screen.

right now i am using spacetrace from my linux console with the only text-webbrowser w3m. it works fine.

what exactly is the problem on your mobiles? can you scroll right and left on your screen?

look, hier is the access for the guest account without frames:
http://www.spacetrace.org/spacetrace.php?username=testuser&pass=test&javascripton=1&login=1&noframes=1

just change username and pass with your pass and you have a direct bookmark for your mobile phone.
this is still html (not wap) so you need a mobile phone with a html-capable browser.

maybe someone knows/finds a tool, that translates from html to wap on the fly like http://babelfish.altavista.com does with translating languages?

Those we use Opera (SIMPLY THE BEST INTERNET EXPIERENCE) can watch how ST looks in a mobile phone (or any other website) by pressing Shift + F11 (or Menu -> View -> Small Screen)

Well that's progress.

with that Direct link you provided Admin, i can now login and see my menu.
BUT.. Still if i click on Fleets, probes..etc any option...
i get the same "cannot open page"

The only page i can see is the incomings screen. i guess becuase it's a very simple page??

sigh...

i think that's a good idea

we could also generate an RSS-Feed that shows your latest attacks

the feed must be password protected (otherwise it would be easy for spies)

Wow could you really do that admin? Thats impressive a lot of the time when I'm playing I find that I open the browser do some research, build a fleet then if no ones on irc i either log out or dont touch the browser for so long the game forgets im logged in but if i could have an RSS feed on my computer of what's happening in game without logging in that would make the game so much more playable for me.
