New Probe Type.

Transwarp Corridor Stabiliser.
This probe can be sent to a destination and will create a 2 way "EXPRESSWAY" it would half travel time between point A and Point B and would be possible to 1/4 that time when combine with a "Mobil TransWarp Gate" used by alliance leaders.
NOTE- Travel form A to B must be compleated before a new coord can be entered.
NOTE- Scan radius is the max range the probe can be deployed from home world and work.

speed: 1
Scanradius: 50 sectors

Researchtime: 12H
Build Time: 1D

Needed Reasearch:
Gravity

If programable for double requirements would add:
Additional Reasearch:
Improved Targeting

thank you for your efforts

the probe you suggested is fun. ( but we need time to think things like that over to avoid mis balance )
maybe a effect like this should be provided by a building, because probes are not destructable.

if i understand you correct, i think the second one is like another mobile twg.
i think that's not needed.

What if the probe is damaged or destroyed in the presance of decloaking probes or oscillation probe?

as to the second type probe. the good bad of it is, it makes a path the enemy could return on for a counter strike. It makes a path from YOUR homeworld only to a distant location.

i see, but the attacker would have more benefit of it, i think.

( but we will keep that in mind )

Not if a Warp 4 MTWG could be added to passage between A and B and B were an allies homeworld which happened to be Vvveeerry far away. Days of travel could be cut to Hrs. or Hrs could be cut to Min. Support for a friend would be a snap. Supprise ship movements/reenforcements could occure similar to a cloaked fleet except you can see it coming but just not have the time to react.

To balance out the Probe may broadcast it's current location and it's distant end.

Once open it does not move, unlike a MTWG. and only the creater of the gate can close it. 2 such probes one open at a rally point and one at the intended targets location, but beware, if the probe arrives before the fleet is assymbled the target could become the attacker. Assymbled allies gather at the rally pooint and take a jump to your home world then a jump via MTWG/Probe Stabilizer and bang we are on your doorstep. This would need to be timed carfully.

RE: Combat Probe,

What if it is disrupted (Not usable) in the area of effect for an Osillation probe and the Decloaking probe.

The slow travel speed makes it nessessary to plan a battle in advance and send the probe ahead. this could give the target time to create the nessessary blocking probes.

Attacker would not know if the probe were blocked until battle were joined as his deployment of the osillation probe would disable his combat probe.

once disabled it would no longer function as it would loose calibration or somthing.

the time flow of spacetrace (movements lasts several hours) is well choosen.

it was planned as a game that can be played like a e -mail account ( just log in, check what's up, start a research etc. , log out)

if the movements are too fast it will take too much time to play ( we don't wanted it to be like that )

launch your fleets, go party, come home and check your battle reports

What if a minium distance were established. say 6 hrs (at warp 5[typical travel speed]) by both MTWG and Stablization probe, becomes 12Hrs without the MTWG integrated. and 24 Hrs if niether one were employed. This would make the distant end of the galaxy reachable if you pay the time to push the probe way out there.

how about a probe that can find out not only how much class 1,2,3 or 4 ships the enemy has, but really what ships he has. So that it tells you that he has 1000 fighters and 500 mosquitos, and not only "1500 class 1 ships"..

I would suggest this probe taking away TWO probe spaces, and the needed research would be
"final exploration" .. so you should really think about having it ..

@Bilerator:
such kind of probe will destroy all chances to defend a planet. if the attackers exactly know your fleetships, his attack fleet can be build to destroy you nearly completly.

How about a new ship type passenger ship/cruiseliner.0/3500 Top ten players like penguin would have to send 1000 of there mp on holidays for a week and hope it didn't hit a space iceberg, or get shot by an opposing player.

what for are the different ships good if you don't know which kind of class 2,3 etc ships he has ?? It's a big kind of chance wether you win or not, you can't plan to fight with a specified fleet against one enemy, which would totally lose against another.

And defense has often to do with chance. But who says that the defensive one can not spy through such a probe ? Some days ago three enemies attacked my ally and we blasted them up because we KNEW they would attack, through a dsp and logical thinking.

That probe would be a really good feature I think. But that's of course only my opinion

Fleet Class probe:

What if there were 4 versions of this probe, Class 1, Class 2.. etc and it only reports its class.

In order to work there must be a DSP present too.

sending a Fleet Class 2 probe and a dsp would tell you that the target has:

Class 1:
1500 ships
Class 2:
102 Destroyers
8 Eagles
20 Shield Generators
Class 3:
26 ships
Class 4:
4 Ships
This could be usefull to an attacker and not totally unbalanced for the game I think.

How are the admins thinking about that "fleet class probe" ? I think RJSmi1th's suggestion is much better than mine, because more balanced.

Shouldn't that probe be added ?

New Ship type:
Stingers
Single purpose fighter. This ship will fire a 1/1 torpedo into Class 2 Causing target fleet shield generator ships to take some ships out of the Class 2 combat before it actually occures in the Class to action.

attack/life: 1/1
manpower: 3

researchtime: 8 h
buildingtime: 10 h

needed research:
Adv Tactics.

This ship makes sence if you know your target loves them Shield generator ships. You could use his own forces against him, say he has 50 SG's and 60 DD's your attack could displace many of each as your damage is less then destroy but before Class 2 combat starts, he now engages you with 35 SG's active and 15 protected for later, and 42 DD's with another 18 Protected for later following the class 1 combat involving 33 attacks from class 1 by this ship type. Now your 50 DD's in class 2 have the upper hand in the comming battle.

yes! a fleet class probe like RJSm1th suggested sounds good.
but we have to think about the rating of the secret services. do we really want to raise the importants?

Fourm: interesting combinations

--> but a good ship for the nanites is the
crystal-cruiser (40 mp 10/100 class3 ; if destroyed it mutates into 10 crystal-destroyers (4 mp (Not producable) 1/10 class2; if destroyed mutates into 100 crystal particles (1mp (not producable) 0/2 class1))

*****************
I like the concept but would change it as follows:

Crystal Cruiser
(Nanite only) This ship in based on nanite tech of many parts make a greater whole. If this ship is destroyed in battle it returns in the next engagement as several (7) Crystal Destroyers, which in turn become Crystal Bees (2/1 fighters)
Class 3:
attack/life: 110/90
manpower: 55

researchtime: 1D
buildingtime: 2D

needed research:
Troika

The break down versions of the Cruiser are not producable on planet, they only result from the destruction of the greater ship.

Crystal Destroyer (NOT BUILDABLE)
(Nanite only) This ship in based on nanite tech of many parts make a greater whole. This ship is the result of a destroyed Crystal Cruiser. If this ship is destroyed in battle it returns in the next engagement as several (2) Crystal Bees (2/1 fighters)
Class 2:
attack/life: 11/9
manpower: 5

researchtime: N/A
buildingtime: next engagement following destruction of Crystal Cruiser.

needed research:
N/A

Crystal Bee (NOT BUILDABLE)
(Nanite only) This ship is based on nanite tech of many parts make a greater whole. This ship is the result of a destroyed Crystal Destroyer. Consider this ship a tandum seet Fighter plane with a pilot and Weapons officer. If this ship is destroyed in battle it will not return in the next engagement as anythng, the parts are too disorginized.
Class 1:
attack/life: 2/1
manpower: 2

researchtime: N/A
buildingtime: next engagement following destruction of Crystal Destroyer.

needed research:
N/A

The differance in manpower is intentinal as the sum of the parts is greater than the parts individually.
