Everytime I log in there is a runtime error (not sure if it is runtime, but an error) and the message frame is white. I have to reload the page if I want it to be there but then the messages and BRs are gone...

which browser are you using?
and is javascript enabled (it is posible to deactivate it in the preferences of your browser)
the message screen in the middle only works with javascript.

but you can always find all your messages on the page, where all your messages are and the battlereports are in the BR-ist too

i dont mean java, i mean javascript, which is a different option in the browser.

i really need to know, which browser you are using and which version. and which OS, (Windows, Mac, Netscape, Internet explorer... everything) otherwise i cannot reconstruct the error.

on other browsers everything works fine

I see no option for javascript.
I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0.

i am using IE 6.0 too, and it works...maybe you just dont wait long enough for it to load?

sometimes it takes up to 30 seconds, for the message screen to load, depending on the trouble you have with your fleets and the amount of messages, you are recieving.

in the options you can go to security options and there is something about scripting and about java, but it's to different things.

does the automatic split of coords work, when you enter a whole set of cords into the target coords of a fleet?
then javascript is enabled.
there are many other internet pages with javascript, so you should know, if it works

Javascript is enabled on my browser.

If I wait longer, nothing happens. The error only occurs if I got some messages.

I know how you can solve this problem ...

deinstall Windows, until you can't find a tiny piece of it left on your computer. Then you install Linux, start the netscape browser and you won't experience any probs anymore

Maybe this could help (I think you talk German, don't you?)
The error message is:
"Es ist ein Laufzeitfehler aufgetreten.
Soll der Debugmodus gestartet werden?
Zeile: 41
Fehler: Ungültiges Zeichen"

aaah!
i see it is a javascript problem.

please send me the sourcecode of your screen where the bug happens

probably it is the frame at the bottom (checkmessages.php) just right mouse button and "quelltext anzeigen"

i need that line 41

(it is probably a message that contains some special characters like "'" or "")

i found the bug:
it only happened always, if you have cookies disabled and if you got a message with the "del"-link at the end.

it should be solved by now, isn`t it?
