how about a selective targeting. this means an effect only occurs if the target ships has less/more/equal mp/lp/ap than a specific value.

for example:

a ship that can only target ships with lp (ap/mp) less then 50

sounds very interesting.

But wouldn't you get a lot of fleets that don't fight because they don't have good targets

it is no problem to balance that.

for example:

class 1 ; 2/1 ; 1 mp ; can only target ships with lp less than 20

Are you saying that you cant kill class 3 with class 1 anymore?like killing cruisers with bountyhunters or fighters? If thats what you are talking about I dont like it!

Yes please explain more because I might be getting the wrong message.

I think it would be a new technology. The example would be a class 1 ship that could indeed not attack class 3. Or a cheaper appollo-kind to wipe out eagles and other low-mp-class2-ships would be nice.

No he means an extension to the current battlesyntax.
This allows you to make more powerful ships for less targets in order to give it a reasonable mp.

i programmed a lighweight version , i works like this:

if the targeted ship has less/more/equall the selected value the rest of the modifier will not be executed.

the modifier look slike this:

select,[ship_attribute],[less/more/equal],[value] / rest of modifier

________________

example
1.
select,mp,less,40/f

if the target has an mp of less then 40 this ship will fight

2.
f/select,race,equal,3/sd

this ship fights, but if the target is a eray ship it will self destruct

3.

select,needed_tec,equal,fanatic warfare/destroy,1,this,all

if the target is a fanatic wearfare vessel it will be destroyed

................

hey .. this is fun isn't it ???

This sound interesting. I look forward to adding some of these deathblow-class ships to my fleet.

i hope for new inventions soon. it is implemented in the game but not in the ship constructor.

just invent ships and put all needed info into the description, i can edit the modifiers if needed.
