I like it too, it looks great.
But you should move it to the middle of the screen like the old one...or is that just my browser kicking it to the corner?

@blackmagic: this is a starat page . it should be as simple as possiblle to avoid confusion for noobies and anyway.. (compare with google for example)

Since I'm not allowed to post in the needed topic, I'll just have my say about the CtF here.
I'm likin every part of it except the troopers. I never got how they worked and I know I'm not the only one. Can they attack the base when they fight an enemy fleet at his base? Or does it need an empty base? How do you win that 'groundbattle'? If the enemy has 1000 protection-troopers, shouldn't you always win it with 1200 of yours? Sorry for all the questions but the forum-topics didn't make it much clearer to me.

@Spacetrace: I understnd what your sayin, but if you notice Google is trying to add more stuff to its starting page. They said that the blank space maybe to occupied by more stuff someday. Due to the high competition of search engines Google is trying to find new ways to fix up thier front page. The Spacetrace Starting page should at lesat explaina little more of what is about at least  I do like it though 
You should make it a bit bigger. I like bigger LOL |

this is the final version now
REALLY
it is the version i thought of more than one year... clear, easy, small enough to fit in a 640/480 screen (don't forget the smallscreens !) and enough links to reach all important pages of spacetrace
