exploration ship
deletes two probes but allows the player to create an exploation ship. this ship travels around spacetrace for a period of 14 days and when it comes back it gives alll the coordinates to its owner. players can name the ship eg: u.s.s. promethius and other players can hail this ship when it passes their planet. these messages can be viewed on the ship when it comes home.

do you control the trip of the ship or is it random? and will you get ALL the coords? and does it have ap? lp? or mp?

I think the ship should be treated as a probe, since the ship serves the same purpose. As for the coordinate, I think the ship should travel randomly except to the same coordinate and within a specific range.
The reason for the specific range is because you certainly want to avoid your exploration ship travel to coordinate 001/001/01 or 999/999/99.

Its like half a ship and half a probe. And the ship is random. However it will only travel around habited areas.
However, it will not pick up cloaked planets.
Speaking of cloaked planets how do ya attack a cloaked planet? |

You can't attck a cloaked planet.
This ship is good, but a bit strong. You'd get a whole plethora of coords. It's balanced out by the loss of a probe though, it also takes two weeks to get results.

I`m assuming its like research in the sense that once you click it for 14 days you have only the use of 1 probe?Then when it returns with the cords you can destroy it and get your 2 probes back?I think the idea sounds pretty good I`ll give it a vote

I dont like it.
Sometimes I have to destroy a probe in transit to build another, when there is an emergency or the situation dictates. It would be horrible to have to destroy this probe after a week and a half.
The use of two probes for investigation is blinding. I never have two investigation probes going at once, and I only really use them to confirm allies coords for the alliance incomings.

yea i think this probe makes it way too easy. maybe we should just concentrate on improving the investigation probe to make it better instead. this probe will make it too easy to obtain coords, despite its two week drawback.

Yup. I don't like it either. No point to it. WHy wait that long for a probe? Also, this probe needs a certain sector scan. I rather use the investigation probe. Also, Who would want to message someone when this ship passes by? For all they know, some other player just got thier coords =)

the thing i like about this ship is that it can move around for coords. but the rest i don't like. i'll try to invent a cool probe now!!
