When I first joined Spacetrace I honestly didn’t have a clue how to structure my fleets. As a matter of fact I remember my first fleet had 10 Motherships in it and a few fighters.
Anyway all I wanted to say is that often it is difficult for a n00b to get his score positive again and I believe we should limit negative score to about –7000.
That way it is possible to return to positive (unless your in Starfleet command 3) and join an alliance.

A quote from the manual in the section how to start:
Quote: |
your first fleet
build a fleet, that consists of ships of every class (1 to 4). you need at least one mothership in a fleet, to open a hyperjumpgate for that fleet.
you have about 5000 manpower (MP) and it is good to use them all for your fleets, so you have a strong fleet that is capable of defending your planet and can attack other planets.
always leave some ships in your base fleet to protect your shipyard and research center.
and important: always be aware of the attitude of your fleets (see the attitude section in fleets)
|
I din't had a problem with my first fleet except the fact that I didn't know who to attack.
But I agree on the fact that negatives score are not nice and difficult to put it positive again, but I like to question whether it is fair for other players (especially who have exactly -7000 points) about such a limit.
Furthermore I think you remove the incentive to become better if you put such a limit. A first account is ment to learn the fleets and their counter ones, and being negative is a something that is part of it. And you remember that next round so you urge to be positive and stay positive will be better. And being negative makes the victory of your next account even sweeter, for you know it isn't easy and you have to battle for it.

Well, when I started, I run into doom. and poof...-1000. thank you methody
But from then I never had it, infact never again, a got back from only one battle. I think who ever got more then -10 000 should be investageted for multy farm!

LoL Lou that's not entirely true, i got into -12000 last round becaus my neighbour with over 80% decided to hump my base everyday, with a real hard to counter fleet, however i took the points back as soon as i had the sufficient ships to do so. But it can happen.
greets

one in million. i do think that someone with less than -10000 points should be investigated.
@steven1982: if it happens to be something lke your case, then it won't be hard to prove it.

no !
because:
you have an alliance with 10 players. one player is voted as the "cow". all fly to this player and attack his 15 motherships.
all get score , but the negative score of the cow is not counted. the alliance can make points ~!legally!~ from nothing.
after a period the cow may even decide to make posive score again to save his account.

my suggestion for noobs is:
try out some things and battle as many players as possible to learn a lot. when you understood the most fundamental things just delete your account and start another one (if you don't like negative score)
or even better: take it like a real e-ray/man/etc. and play your account until the end with negative score: every account has an unique story and goes down in spacetrace history

My first round was possitive!
One suggestion: If you joined this game because one of your friend play it. Make an alliance and they can always save you.
The first battle against multi put my score -7000 but i have recovered near the end and got 4000.
