I read the retreating fighter describition, but I have no idea how to actually use it effectively?

You have 1000 fighters in your attacking fleet.

The defenders have two fleets of over 1000 fighters. In the normal scheme of things this would be bad for u

But add in a retreat fighter, and you have enough fighters to fight both fleets.

Other that senario, the retreating fighter has no other practical use. Unless retreating fighter have another use, please let me know.

you can defend your base using the same principle at the previous example.

You are attacked by several fleets with large class one.

YOur smallish class one as a few retreats included.

Your base survives. (usually)
