there is a new feature in the preferences:

besides the description of the planet and the ruler everybody can set a picture for his planet info page.
the planet info page can be seen in the com window, when u send a message to another player.

the leader of an alliance can also put a picture in the alliance message screen now.

the pre-warp-planets are getting more and more important.
we need about 30 pictures of planets in a spacetrace-style for the planet-info screens of the pre-warp-planet.
does someone know how to use povray, lightwave or 3dstudiomax or something like it to generate planet pictures, and
who would like to do that?

hmm, do you need 3d planets ? Otherwise you could realize that with Photoshop also .. I am a friend of Photoshop ^^ btw, i am really blind from the greatness of the intro screen !

i thought of pictures like these:


these are photographies of course, but i have seen planet pictures that were calculated and they looked as real as this.

they should all be in 250x250px format and have a black background

Hm... When I searched for planet pictures in the second round I almost only got photographies. And most of them weren't too good for a planet picture...
