I'm not sure what the scan radius should be because if its one, it would destroy other probes one sector away, and if its 0, it doesn't do anything (I think).

If that was improper of me to vote no without stating why, I apologize.

Well, we both put out our versions of a probe destroyer within a couple of hours of each other. They are very, very different, and serve different purposes. I believe that this probe would serve less of a tactical purpose than the Guided Probe Seeker.

The x-probe can be a permanent fixture, and with several allies can create a "blackout", of which there would be almost no relief. It would have the ability to completely clear an area of probes, and serve as a "trap" for new probes coming in. The only thing that can destroy an x-probe is the creator, or another x-probe. Also, with warp 3, it lessens the tactical value and becomes more of a strategic item. (Which may lose it's purpose before it gets there.) It also cannot be reprogrammed in midflight.

Of course, I only voted no because I believe that the Guided Probe Seeker is more versatile, yet still balanced. If the admin declared the GPS impossible (which is likely) then I would defer to you. I would like to see it a bit faster, and give it a self destruct, though.

I also think the Guided Probe Seeker (but with some changes) is a better option to destroy probes and more strategic

Ok perhaps I explained this wrong. When the x-probe arrives, it would either detonate on impact and on the probes menu it would say what probes it destroyed, being incapable of destroying anything that arrives after that or it would be like a decloaking probe, where you "detonate" it by checking the box, and it is thereafter powerless.

I have too agree with Achilles This probe is a "probes worst nightmare" if you will. No probe would be able to go by it without being destroyed. Info on fleets for were one was is impossible to get because it is completely blocked out by this probe. Though the Anti-probe Probe could be a better choice because it will destroy itself after the other probes.

Is this change to destroy only one probe?
This will be more balanced

no,
ONE probe would be enough in most cases (the dsp of the planet you attack)

but this is nice:
