Some players asked for a way to simulate battle situations to learn something about battle situations and good fleet setups. This is not a good idea, because the sense of the game is to find out good setups playing the game, not to simulate battles.
But what about a section in the manual where n00bs can find some examples of BRs to see what can happen when they are using this or that. Maybe there can be some examples of a 2-fleet-attack, too. That would answer some standard-n00b questions and is a good introduction to the game. |

So you dont want people to train their fleet-setup, to learn about the setups?
But you do want to give them all the information they need?
Let them search for it, eventually in a practice area. |

this is rediculous. anybody could program a tool to calculate fleetbattles if he/she has some basic programming information. i've done tools for other games before to calculate fleets, battles, if the constellation pays off or not/which one pays off best against a special ship/fleet. it's not a big problem. if they want tools, they don't need your permission, they'll just programm them and you can't do a damn against it. all the information you need is in the manual. |

n00bs still dont know how to use a simple destroyer fleet or someting. So they could see their first BR reading the manual (Yes, I know: There are many of BRs here in the Forum), not loosing 4000 points (and leaving the game before they started).
And all the players who (think they) programmed a simulator, be happy, pm me your coords and I will try to test your experience |

You don't have to program anything all you need to do is get a few of your friends to test out different techs and fleet combos to see which ones are most effective againts what other fleets. You don't have to program anything because this would let you find out exactly what each ship can do and what it says it can but can't do based on what the battle syntax says.

Use the left of this round and test combination
One simple and have good effect is:
Only Cruisers and 1 Motherships
Is excellent, but weak to fight Penguins, Kamikaze and Doomstars
Also good to fight Eagle, Destroyers, Dreadnoughts...

You are right if you say anyone can do it with some basic programming, but it would take some time to program and test it and synchronize it with the SpaceTrace BattleEngine.
