guided probe seeker (class 2 ship)

this ship is used to seek out any and all probes in a sector and destroys them. it also destroyes all ships in your fleet.

it provides no means to seek out probes. probes must be located by another means.

attack/life: 0/8
manpower: 8

speed: warp 6
(can only establish a warpfield for itself)
researchtime: 1 d
buildingtime: 12 h

needed research:
advanced tactics

battle details:
modifies AP/LP by 0/-5000 of all ships of any ship-type in your own fleet in all classes
(battle engine syntax: mod,self,all,all,all,+,0,-5000)

I designed this ship for whoever attempted to invent the "probe destroyed". It seemed like a good idea and I think it could work.

This is a ship instead of a probe so it can change direction after you send it off. It would also cost you some mp to use. You would need to pair it up with an oscillation probe to find a target.

I think it has to destroy itself and all other ships in your fleet so people would not just attach them to fleets and wipe up probes all over the galaxy.

Otherwise, this provides an option to remove dsps, trace probes, scramblers, and oscillation probes.

Couldn't the destroy function and the warp been removed and in replacement selfdestruction and more mp been added.

This way it won't use a fleet but can still be used once and is a bit more difficult to use.

I know it would work that way too, and if everyone likes that way better that's fine.

I just think it would make it easier to use if you can attach it to a fleet. It would be one less thing to worry about. You could send your fleet over, knock out their dsp (or scrambler, or whatever) and attack. It would take far less coordination than if you had to do it separately.

How about some more opinions?

I like this ship.

It would be a great help in defending your homeworld.

I wouldn't make any changes to it.

this would be a possible idea of a probe destruction feature, cause a probe, that destroys other probes is not good for the game.

it could work like this:

220 MP
no warp
class 1
when it gets hit in battle it destroys your whole fleet too

in the probes screen you see the ship as an option, so you can blow it up from there.

once it explodes, you loose all points in your fleet (at least 220+80 for a core driver)

it doesent show the probes within its radius, so you need an oscillation probe too

This ship is too powerful. and it doesnt really matter that it destroys your whole fleet becuase if it has its own warp you can just send it out solo and keep destroying every probe endlessly=too much power.

You should add more MP and take away the warp like ADMIN stated above and maybe a longer build time since it has so much potential

its a good idea, but liek everyone said to powerful listen to ADMIN, and change some things, but how would you locate other probes in the first place?

Don't think this is necessary...there's already the scrambler, it does the job.

@linux66 this could destroy the scrambler. great idea, take ADMIN advice. does ADMIN have any suggestions on research and build times?
