Your friend's planet is set on defense.
If you want to protect him, set your fleet attitude to defense ( you don't do that by typing defense, but you have to click the shield, which will then become blue )..
If your friend has got a fleet that is at home, but not in his base, it should have the defense attitude, too.
Then you can help him defending  |

| If you have the same code you can still defend someones planet - it has happened with me a few times - i hvae both given defence and received defence from someone with the same attack code |

this only works with the alliance-attack-code
you can defend an ally and set your attack code to the alliance-attack-code (get it from your leader) and then it will not fight against othere allies with defense OR the alliance-attack-code |
