What if we made it a move where you leave your people, that planet turns into a pre warp world, you just sort of move yourself to a new planet, replaceing your current population with the population of the new planet, and you would loose all previous technologies you researched, but not the ability to research out of race. This would make sure that people don't just hop around whenever danger comes their way. |

Ok, forget it guys, if you are in trouble, you can always ask 4 help, and you'll get it, but changing planet is not the solution, |

Why not? If we change it so that you leave everything behind, any buildings you had, all your research, and you basically start anew on a new palnet of your choice, instead of a random one. I think loosing all research would be more then enough of a drawback, maybe to much, maybe you'd just loose all non basic research, i think that would be best |

You should ask for help from an alliance, you should also tic the send to all players box. It isnt always possible to help for lots of reasons. distance, naps etc. But there are a few different ways to help as well |

OK, what do you think guys:
You lose 100 MP(permanently) each time you move away.
You lose one research already made "al azar" (I don't know say it in english) and if you got ships of it research builded they selfdestruct and you lose the points.
I don't know if you can research it again or not...

It seems to me like a nice idea and, to tell you the true, the fact that the ship could be intercepted and easyly destroyed (maybe less LP would be good) making you loose all, seems to me like enough punishment.
Anyway, I'd like to to know what the admin thinks about it: is it a good idea? is it doable? what kind of disadvantages does it needs?
MasterNeil, I'd wait till the admin answer and, if he does, depending on what he says, I'd propose this ship Here. There is where final discussions of techs that are ready to be put in the game are made.
(BTW, Luis, "al azar" is "at random" in english.)

thanks BlackBaron
but I think is enought it selfdestructs at the end is enought, if it can be intercepted too, it must be recicled and not selfdestructed...
ADMINS wake up!!!! thanks

this ship is really cool. you have seen there is a ship that is doing the half of it : pioneer ship.
we decided to let it transport only the shipyard.
the questionis : WHY?
_______________________________________
here is the answer:
this universe is defined by the coordinates x,y,z
the only relevant elements defined by this coordinates are the player-planets.
the "feeling" for the space is just defined by these planets.
that means if you make these coordinates dynamic the space will loose its integrity, as the elements that are defining the space are moving around.
for a single player the movement of his planet may be fun , but it would cause (on the large scale) the disintegration of the "space-feeling" (and this "space-feeling" is a elemental part of spacetrace)
anyway... your coord-list would change daily... that would be confusing.
at least... moving the shipyard is a cool strategic option...

Yeah, fair enough i guess, i have one more question, not really related to pathfinder, but sort of, if i have a shipyard on another planet, how do i get rid of it so i can build at my planet again, do i need a new pioneer ship? |
