pathfinder (class 4 ship)

the pathfinder is a huge huge ship its sole purpose is to move your entire population to a prewarp world to star life anew. this ship allowes you to move your entire base, research center shipyard and transwarp to a new planet. it moves all of them so you can¸t only move your transwarp. this would be very useful for people getting harassed by close worlds teaming up. it has no weapons but goes at warp 5, when it reaches a new prewarp planet it unloads the population and destroyes itself. this would establish a shipyard but you would have to rebuild your research facility and your transwarp network, you would lose any other buildings at your previous world. i don´t know any codes for this.

and maybe your planet(the one you leave) must "transform" into a prewarp planet

i like it.. is the sae thight of the pioner ship but in true i never understand that of only the shipyard

One planet per player. This is not going to change I am sure, as to the value of the pioneer ship, I think you should think about it, I have used it in the past quite successfully. It is a tactic, not a colonising thing.

But it is neccessary as a ship, I can't just move my shipyard. Me and almost everyone in my alliance is constantly under siege by at least three people, they always attack within 10 hours of each other, makeing defense impossible. There is nothing I can do except sit and watch my points drop, I don't think that is fair. Thats why we need this ship!

You can defend against those sort of attacks, you just need to think about the tactics a bit.

Commander Cody how can you have more than one planet if you have moved your entire base. Your base cant be in two places at once and you cant build two bases so you would still have one planet. Try to think things through before you say them.

it could also be used to make the allies bieng closer. my cousin is far away from me. this ship could make alliances stronger. i need one of those! NOW!

@Noah, I understand that leaving one and moving to another would be still one. But it would be 2 in a round.
That is what I meant. I will post something to make it more balanced, and then you can see if you still like it so much.

Ok to balance it. Remember it must have a downside.
This ship gives enormous advantage over All the players in the game that have probed you.

So if it moves everything
0/2000) same as pioneer can shoot same as pioneer

mp all-10% or something similar. This is the people on your planet who are too old, too sick, or simply refuse to move.

You lose this mp permanently.

Warp 3
Build time 2days 8 hours
Needed research Pioneer ship.

I also think, to make it more balanced, you could also lose all but racially specific research.

Think about it, there is no ship which does not have balance. To simply move house mid round must have a very serious drawback in order for it to be balanced.

i think that the ship is a little unbalanced, to agree with Cody, but also your ship is a little extreme as well. You have added so many drawbacks. -10% manpower, some people only start at like 4,800. So minus 10 percent is 480. Thats 8 cruisers less than someone else could have. A slow warp time would not aid escaping a siege. Build time of 2 d 8 h is a little long, but i guess it should be with a game-changing ship such as this. Losing all research not from your race. Some people didnt like their race, or the way their race battles, so they use the foreign researches in addition to their own race in unique combos. Dont take away that ability of research in addition to all the other changes. Perhaps make it so that all previously researched stuff from otehr races is kept, but the potential to research from other races is gone. That would make people second guess moving too prematurely. Lastly, why would the pioneer ship be required research. Maybe only the research the pioneer ship requires, gravity i think. The pioneer ship would be in many senses worthless if you built this ship, and should be removed from the game. And another ship should never be requested research for another ship, because then you would never build the other ship to begin with. And its necessity to the game, would just be to allow people to build the next ship.

There has to be a signicant not likely character for this ship to ever have any chance, I am sure others will have plenty of other suggestions.

But remember there are 600 players at present, if they all probe you and all lose that information, that has to be somehow balanced.

And the pioneer should not be redundant. It was introduced as a comprimise for many other ship proposals like this one.
It works. It can be shot, has a drawback ( you have to defend two places with the same amount of mp)

The ship as originally proposed would have everybody under attack flying around like space-gypsies, a different game I think.
