Another Nano Virus Question

Let's say my ships engage an enemy fleet that has a plague ship. The plague ship gets its turn infects my ships. From what I understand, the infected ships will blow up the next time those ships go into battle.

Questions:
1) Do they blow at the beginning of the next battle or at the end of the next battle?
2) Do I lose the points, and who gets the points (The plague ship owner or the person I have the next battle with)?
3) If I recycle the infected ships, do I get rid of the nano viruses?

1/ They act like mines, they destroy one ship if they get there turn. During the battle.

2/ You lose the points, the person you are fighting gets the points.

3/ Yes. You only have to recycle the virus's.
