So, the teacher is back
OK, so, the first lessson - the alphabet
/how the **** *** *** ****** ** of **** **** the ******* *** *** (this one is shortened
too) am I supposed to do that?! /
OK, the alphabet has nothing to do with the Latin one... Half of the symbols might look the same, but are pronounced different...
Thusly, when a Bulgarian speaks his language over the internet, Latin symbols are used.
But the way they are used pretty much represents the pronounciation, not the way it's written in real.
For example, Hristo Stoichkov with the BG alphabet would look like this:
XpucTo CTou4koB
here are some letters that can be shown in Latin letters, the choice of a caps lock or not is only 'cause some letter look that way in BG; some are a combination of symbols too...

Should I flatten Louis' Base? For a small fee of 1000 points (3 MS will be enough) I'll do it. If anyone wants to hire me for destroying someone elses Base, I'll do it... the game becomes boring... |

Quote: | THE BULGARIANS DON'T USE THJE LATIN ALPHABET????? |
Our alphabet is known as Cyrillic... It was invented by the Moravians Kiril and his brother /And who guesses how he was called, receives a reward /
This alphabet nowadays is used only by us and the Macedonians as far as I know... Russians use most of it too, but have some additional letters and some of ours are missing. The Serbians use it as well, but some of the symbols are replaced with Latin ones...
The major advantage of it, though it has 30 letters, is that each letter no matter where is placed, is read the same way, and even in some cases can be read as it's counter letter without being wrong.
In difference to the Latin alphabet, our letters represent a specific sound...
For example, the letter looking like "A".. It's read like in "cAr", or "bAr" allways...
However, in English, the Latin letter "A" can be read in very different ways due to rules of pronounciation, for example:
One way in "c*A*r"
Another way in "*A* car"
Third way in "l*A*te"
Fourth way in "se*A*t"
Fifth way in "s*A*lt"
Sixth way in "c*A*rrot"
Seventh way in "go*A*t"
If you write those words with the Cyrillic alphabet, a Bulgarian would pronounce the letter "A" the same way for all of them.
As each letter represents a speciffic sound it's really easy to learn to read the language, and to write it down as well /although some letters are pronounced in some cases as their counter-parts, which is no mistake; just in those cases it's possible to say it according to the alphabet (considered correct) and with a counterpart (also considered correct); Thusly just by knowing the alphabet you can read correctly without even knowing what the thing you read means... for example the word meaning "in" - "vuv". It can be pronounced with a "v" or "f" in the end and both are considered correct/

Metody, you don't need to explain that much that letter are always read the same, it seems most of your students are spanish speakers, and in spanish letters are always read the same (in fact, as far as I know english is the only language with latin characters that has that weird way of writing). |

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining about what he was explaining (in fact I'm glad he did), I was just pointing that a language with letters that always are read the same is very common to us, spanish speakers . |
