Here is an idea.. and its only an idea so it might need more thought...

how about one ship do it all.. one Colonization Ship that puts "Immobile Colonization Structures" or ICS (just a name).. these ICS will be what claims the prewarp planet you conquer.. these are like Worm Holes but are more easily destroyed..

These ICS will be different and cost some sort of mp and will have special abilities.. and these can be destroyed for more loss of mp.

List of ICS:
1. Colony Base Defense- Just like a DA, but you are able to put on Prewarp planets (cost to build: 10-15 credits, mp loss if destroyed: 250)

2. Resource Mining Colony- Resource Extracting colony that makes your alliance gain 50-200 points a day (cost to build: 15 credits/1000mp, mp loss if destroyed: 500-1500)

3. Planetary Observatory Colony- Just like an extra dsp, gives you 10-15 sectors of dsp cappablities (cost to build: 10 credits/750-1000mp, mp loss if destroyed: 250-1000)

4. Ship Resupply Depot- Alliance Shipyard, Allinace members can come here and refeul their tired fleets.. this one is a bit iffy.. (cost to build:15-20 credits, mp loss if destroyed: 1000-2000)

now this Colonization Ship will cost lots of mp, be a slow and valnerable target, and travel on its own.. like a class 3 with its own warp field.. and once you get to the prewarp planet you may choose one of the 4 ICS that you want on that planet.. you can build as much as you want as long as you have enough credits/mp to do so.. and the ship will take a while to build... and your alliance members may use these also, somehow..

this idea might have a few glitches, but its just a thought.. tell me if you see anything wrong with it...

but the 4th one?
the resupplying thing?

how about just an alliance shippyard for the alliance fleet? or something similiar. that was discussed earlier?

1. The MP should be alliance points.
2. Credits are quite rare, so either make it cost less, or find another way to get them.
3. Mining should be 0-100 points a day, and should vary, so that alliances cant solely depend on those points. It should be an addition, not a whole new way of living/playing, tho it will majorly affect the gameplay.

1. Of course Mp will be taken from the alliance
2. Credits are not that rare.. first off, higher credits will incite players to donate money to ST to get more credits... secondly higher credits will prevent multys from getting a lot of ICS's.. thirdly this will bring the hunt for 'It' more popular..
3. Mining/Resource collecting should not bring in too much points, but enough make a difference never the less... yes, some where between 0 and 100...

sounds intereting... i really like it.

my question would be: is this that innovative that people would say "the spacetrace colonization concept is kind of different " ... anyway , maybe we should do something familiar for the people

haha lol , making fun of me ... buuuuuuuuuuuuuut .... hard to say - it isn't known yet, so i cannot say, i must be found ... somewhere... in my mind .... lol

that's a creative process, you cannot say what it will be ...

i am sure there is something unexpected and really interesting , new to world of games!

perhaps hook up an ST videogame, where you are actually in the ships, hooked up to the wii? wii. wii. i like saying wii. but my idea is a bit stupid....

Hey Now! see thats not a bad idea..

now do you mean 3rd person or 1st person?

3rd person being above the view possibly controling more than one troop

or

1st person being that you are the character with the gun/weapon killing off the horrible Kazuuula

Admin might be thinking of including something like halo (with less graphics and easy for the 'challenged' computers to load) to conquer flags, take over shipyards to stop production, invade HQ and find alliance information.. so on..

but there are different ways to incorporate it into ST

there is an opensource and free fps which could be used for st :

tremulous

it's quite cool. i think it is quite easy to add a mod to fit it into spacetrace.

wow, that looks like a pretty decent game.. how you would tie it into ST?.. im still thinking and i might have a few ideas.. im looking at some screenshots and it looks pretty cool.. i guess up to game play

i am not sure , it is quite a cool scifi team first person shooter. maybe you shjould have to battle against the owners of a planet to conquer it .

Wow, that looks like real fun!

If it's open source, and already has an engine... then we could modify it indeed to make ground battles much more interesting. But there should be a larger arangement of ground troops

There is just one disadvantage: You have the tacticly correct, not to say PERFECT, but graphicly shitty main ST, and then, all of the sudden, when trying to capture a flag, you get an error message in your screen, that you ahven't downloaded the STremulous file, and therefor your groundbattle has been aborted.

My suggestion therefor is, to make two Spacetraces.

ONE for the online gamplay, just with fleets and stuff.
and ONE downloadable ST, with better graphics, sounds, menu's etc and the Groundbattle function. What about that?

Neat-o... i just got a taste of the game play.. and i like, not tooo complicated but it need warming up to..

i could see it being put into spacetrace but im not sure how yet.. its really neat to play with the different 'evos' and running around like a bug.. lol.. i recommend playing it, its not that bad and there is very low computer requirements for it..

This is like... the only idea I ever had. It needs alot of improvement but I still think that it's a good idea.

The mining platform is not a bad idea just you need to formulate how many you can have, how many points you get, how to build, etc.. just throw an idea out there and you'll be criticized, but youll be one step closer to getting it writen on paper...
