i think Firefly/Serenity is the best series, it is realistic and the conversations are with a lot of hidden humour.

2. Startrek - Voyager and TNG
3. Babylon 5
4. Startrek - the other series

sorry but i dont like stargate,
and i dont know galactica but will try it soon

SciFi-Audio:
Perry Rhodan - The 12 original ones

SciFi movies:
1. 2001
2. Alien 1
3. The Hitchhikers Guide
4. Barbarella

SciFi Books:
1. The Hitchhikers Guide
2. Stanislav Lem
3. Peter F Hamilton - The Armageddon Zyclus

sure there are more, that just don?t come into my mind right now

I forgot movies, was just thinking TV, I just can't seem to get enough of the Metrix series. Blade Runner is great too, one of my all time favorites!, Dune awsome too.

Oh my.. i won't post all the Sci-Fi movies i've seen, few pages wouldn't be enough !

By the way, O'neill sense of humour is way better than anyone's in Firefly.
And about realism in those series, wait for the ending and read subtitles, there are over 10 physicists working in Sg-1 filming group
You can also watch additional SG-1 episode called "True science".

Firefly is some kind of mix of Sci-Fi and western

Oh.. i'm reading Frank Herbert's "Dune" atm.

I'm not big on Atlantis. But as for SG1, Thats a hard question to answer for me. I like them all. I am just about done with season 8. I got the season set for Christmas. I most likely will go back and buy Season 1 and start from there. Its frickn great watching these shows w/o commercials . Maybe someone who is more into SG1 could answer your question.

All the series (almsot) are incredible !
I would recommend to watch from the early beggining, Stargate movie first and then first season. Of course later seasons are more entertaining, but you miss the whole idea.

i saw the first 3 episodes/movies
and i didnt like it, so i thought maybe they get better in the later series?

i thought maybe its the same like with startrek: the first 2 seasons are always real crap, but only because the actors are not good yet in their roles. after 2 or 3 seasons, they get into it and then it starts being real fun
