d.o.c platform (class 4 ship)

this technology was perfected over the last decade by codysseus cloudgatherer, an ingenuitive human being who was hellbent on successfully designing a functional weapons system for large caliber ships. when the direct.outflux.capacitor platform becomes active it destroys all other d.o.c platforms in your own fleet and then launches up to 10 individual d.o.c modules that attach themselves to all class 4 ships (including itself) in both fleets. these modules are capable of redirecting the energy from a ships core into an outflux of power, giving each an offensive capability of 200 ap until the end of battle.

battle details:modifies LP by -5000 of itself in your own fleet in class 4 but some ships and buildings are immune against this effect

modifies AP/LP by +200/0 of all ships of any ship-type in both fleets in class 4
battlemessage: "d.o.c modules launched: ... ships"

Not sure if the syntax is correct because I couldnt referrance it against another ship. Most ships that destroy ships of the same type are self-destructive and that is not what I was intending. Hopefully improperly coded syntax on the creators part doesnt demerit an inventions worth. I was once told around 10 years ago that:

Class 4 ships are huge and not easy to destroy.


So a decade of maturing on my part and we have: the "D.O.C Platform"
A ship that makes class 4 combat actually exsist.

hm. ok interesting. it can turn core-drivers into 200/250 defensive beasts.

Yes after the second or third look the Coredriver dawned on me, I had thought of that problem before in my head but never did get around to thinking it through, I guess!

Originally my thought was that it also would modify the LP of all ships as to power it down a bit but there are several potential solutions. The simplist off the top of my head would be to remove the fight syntax from the Coredriver. The intention of this tech is to put c4 shiips into the fray, endangering the smaller c4 ships and IMO putting an interesting dynamic on the neglected c4 class combat; not to be able to knock out a mothership easily. Most c4 ships dont even have a fight syntax to use the mod AP.

Anyway. My oops. Premature e-techulation.

if you want only some ships to be effected, you would have to copy the line for each ship, that can be effected:
modifies AP/LP by +200/0 of all motherships in both fleets in class 4
modifies AP/LP by +200/0 of all timeslippers in both fleets in class 4
...

then you could be sure not to generate some overpovered ships

but i still think, you found the point, why this is still not so cool, to have this ship.
this would also strand lots of fleets in mid-space

why do you want to make class 4 battle more interesting?

we would have to make the mothership indestructible then, or so...
