IRC hangout

Hey!

It would be nice if we could get some communication going in the game. I'll make it a habit to stay logged into the IRC when im behind the computer. Come join me!

Communication and Community are essential if we want ST to thrive again ; )

Yes Senor...a sense of community definitely helps the level of interest in ST.
Because of the numerous time zones St encompasses, it can be difficult but certainly do-able. Because of my job, I can't always take time to "loiter" around the chat room. As a matter of fact, I am pressed to sometimes even get logged in to do anything meaningful and almost always I get interrupted just before a battle so end up fighting while off line.

Not the best strategy but oh well...I can still enjoy myself.
Communication adds a whole new level of involvement in the game that I miss.

haha, T2. i know exactly what you mean. we oldies just have to stick around to keep the spirits up and whoop an occational ass, but life's too busy to play like we used to.
i hope we'll have a younger generation of players soon with enough time to make stuff happen. maybe we'll just have to wait until browser games are IN again

i enhanced the in-game irc chat too:
- you can press enter now to send the message
- and you see the online players there

yeah that's cool - i am in irc now all the time - maybe we can at least meet one day in the week at a nice time (at least for europeans)

you don't have to join any more, just write in the IRC-chat window from within the game.

if your screen resolution allows it, you have 3 windows now, and the one on the right always has the IRC chat open, with you already logged in.

if your resolution is less than 1200px, you can open the chat in the communication area in the navigation

there are some irc improvements:

some more interresting messages are given by spacebot (conquering of colonies and stuff)

and : the cgi-irc client (chat window link under ingame irc) is fully operational now!
you can make new private channels and have private conversations.

for extended features or more convienience you could also use a external irc client.
