this is the fighter defense frigate which can destroy 10 fighters with its graviton rail gun.

(battle engine syntax: f)
modifies AP/LP by 0/-1 of 10 ships of any ship-type in the enemy fleet in class 1
battlemessage: "frigate mkiv destroyed ... ships"
(battle engine syntax: mod,enemy,10,1,all,+,0,-1,frigate mkiv destroyed)

more a sort of c2 apollo...

i like the ship, hesitate if it should be eray. using other setups eray already have excellent defence against c1. nanite, in line with the apollo?

i invented it and it is meant as an replacement for the spectre

but noone will approve it , i guess

ok .. let's make a deal: you can wish for a cool power/funky/extra-feature and i implement it, then we drop the spectre for this ship (balanced if needed, maybe it could be more powerful - we could overpower it by 20% - the spectre is 250% overpowerd )

as a replacement of the spectre,- i hate that- i consider to support this ship but i cant make up my mind, the next thoughts are blocking it.....



some time ago i suggested that someone (or all members) in the alliance should have the opportunity to see all the probe-readings of the alliancemembers. main advantage is that even if members aren'n on line you have an overview and it isnt neccessary to post the readings.
However this excellent idea was rejected.(unbalanced or so)
With the colonies now, there is something like this, using the pyr. dev. .
i still like it.

second thougt:
possible air attack on colonies

third tought:
autopilot for travell using several wormholes

that is performance problem too, i think we cannot implement it. the pyramid device is not a problem for the performance.

I like the Ncaries ide anr 2 also.

There could be a special "tactical nuke" ship that destroys lets say 50 troops on a colonie.

OHHHHH!!! Your replacing something with this ship. This could open up allot of new tactics. Most colonies don't have 50 troops on them. How about aireal(stupid spell checker) bombardment that kills 25-50% of the troops. Those unlucky guys not in the bunker.

there gotta be a lot of balancing:

like : it needs to be more mp intensive to bombard than with units and it should be impossible to clear it completely just by bombing.

just as in real wars, it should be made in a way that you cant get control of an area only by bombing it (groundtroops are needed), but bombing should really help weakening the enemy.

In my opinion it isnt that bad to allow the air attack to make substantial damage, the colony-owner can counterattack the bomber by using regular fleets. So it should be relatively vulnarable against fighters, destroyers etc.

A % reductio for a certain number/stack of reinforcements would be nice. To make in even better we could introduce airdefencetroops, useless against infanterie etc but reducing the influence of a bombardement.

A special class 4 ship that costs around 2500 mp with warp 5-8(for balance) called the bombardier(bomb-bra-deer). Very MP intensive and can be quite useful. You may even be able to blow it up.

i thought also that infantry shouldn't be that vulvenarable...
we will find a balance.

my suggestion for the ship would be:

class 3

pls remember the mp cost for a normal unit is 4, so 100 mp ~ 25 units!

i agree that troops should be somewhat safe against bombing. because they can dig trenches and busy their cannons underground. so it would be impossible to clear all "rats" with bombing.
i think the % idea is good so the returns are diminishing with the number of bombs used.
