|
|
Ok, so, I clicked on 'Fleets' about 15 seconds before a player was about to attack me, then a few seconds later I clicked it again, and it came up with that message,
'Please do not click so fast, wait 3 seconds before you reload the page',
anyway, so I kept clicking and it turns out that if you continuously click every 3 seconds or so, you can keep the attacking fleet in mid air for, well, I managed it for 3 minutes .
He did attack me, in the end however. I looked on my probes menu and there he was. _________________

sometimes you can keep it up for a long time.
it is annoying and should be considered "low tactics" _________________ Running the P since 2007 |

I could not agree more. It is dirty tactics and I for one will NEVER, EVER pursue this kind of convenient intervention ever again in my battles
I did win though _________________

yea. its a bug that happens when u refresh your dsp or fleets screen rapidly.
we encountered something like it when we were fighting for CGC's flag. i dunno if it was done on purpose or just a lot of refreshing was going on, but it's friggin annoying. |

when you have 3 players or so, all updating their DSPs and altering fleets, then it all sort of freezes.
Doesn't have to be on purpose.
An interesting question is this:
Could you write a ghost app that keeps zapping the DSP/fleets thing indefinately, so the battle never actually happens? Then I guess the bug must be removed.
Another bad thing would be if one could allow allies to approach in the meantime. _________________ Running the P since 2007 |

Splah there's no such thing as dirty tactics these days
apart from everything CGC does that is _________________ "Although the constant shadow of certain death looms over everyday, the pleasures and joys of life can be so fine and deeply affecting that the heart is nearly stilled by astonishment" - Dean R Koontz |

This bug is already known and it not only happens when you are under attack, but when you are attackign someone and eta on him and you look at your probe menue and fleets screen to much( hardly possible in that situation not to do it to much...) then you stall your own fleets. _________________

This is not new:
http://www.spacetrace.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6569
ALSO:
admin wrote: | it is posstible byrapid and constant clicking by several players on thier dsp's to cause fleet freezes and such...perhaps unintentionally, but it has to be fixed somehow
1.
one solution would be, that the timer between probes-clicks are set up more secands than already (10 s at the moment)
2.
the other solution would be, that just the dsp-scan on the probes screen would refresh only every 30 s.
anyway:
if anyone uses this glinch to freeze fleets, it is treated as CHEATING!
so please don?t use this bug until we program a solution.
the first solution could be done very easy, but i think it is annoying to have access to the probes screen only every 30 s. ??? |

I'm interested in the "posstible byrapid" part in the post with the huge red letters
.
Anyone know what that means?
