In the "Production Screen", on top there are words like:

(A/D) mp build time in stock

The "mp" means man-power, right?

What about the "(A/D)"?

I tried finding it in the manual, nothing.

And in the "Research request" screen, just below the "Construct", there is yet another cryptic thingy --- "AP/LP"

What does it mean?

Why are they not listed in the manual??

How do they expect the n00bs to know all that cryptic stuffs?

AP/LP is an abbreviation used throughout internet games, it means attack points/life points. A/D is the same but abbreviates for Attack/Defence.

I couldn't agree more

Ok:

AP = attack points
LP = lifepoints

A = Attack (attack points)
D = Defence (defence points)

Attack points are how many points each ship can attack with.
Life points are how many points your ship has before it can be destroyed,

for instance:

A regular fighter has:

1 attack point
1 defence point

And a regular destroy has:

10 attack points
10 defence points

If you had 10 fighters fighting 1 destroyer, then they would destroy the destroyer with your fighters (excuse the pun), because the destroyer's lifepoints would be reduced to 0

However, if the destroyer went first in battle, it would destroy one 1 fighter (because it's own Attack Points are higher than the Fighter's Lifepoints), so you would be left with 9 fighters. If you had 9 fighters and they fought the destroyer, the destroyer would still have 1 lifepoint left at the end of the battle (it would still exist) (each ship can only fight ONCE in battle, so the destroyer would only be able to destroy 1 fighter ).

If you had 1 fighter vs. 1 fighter, then because they both have 1 lifepoint, whichever fighter went first would win.

1 fighter destroyers 1 fighter
1 fighter has been destroyed, therefore cannot fight the other fighter

I hope this helps. I'm thinking of creating a few video tutorials, however, I would only create them if they were to be implemented ingame. Most of us long time players have offered out services to the new community, so you will be able to find help very easily if you ask

Good hunting!
