What is the best way to use the eye in the sky probe?

If I sent it to 000/000/00, then sent that from 999/999/99, would it scan everywhere in the ST galaxy?

Also, what is theoretically the lowest (nearest to 000/000/00) and highest (nearest to 999/999/99) someone in the galaxy can be? Can you only be between 400/400/00 and 599/599/99?

Eye in the sky scans for fleets not planets. And once you past a fleet you will have no record that you passed one.

Rest I dont know.

I dunno about the coords, but reading the manual one might conclude that the eye in the sky is a mobile DSP.
So, it is not a mobile investigation probe.

The price you pay is semi-high:
You need a pyramid device probe (research) and the eye-in-the-sky thing (300MP) in your c3. It also disintegrates on battle contact, so you want to keep it away from battle.

The gains are also high:
If you have buddies with you, your fleet with the eye-in-sky can act DSP in the vicinity. Then you can move to another location and the probing is still active. This way you don't need to build and deploy a DSP to every location you want to visit. You have your DSP along with you instead.

So, I would say that using this as a loner is ok if you are confident that your other fleets are enough to do sufficient damage without the 300MP and the hassle of avoiding having it self-destruct on you. It also seems a ship that should be used by the active player. HAving it stand around so someone can shoot at it seems silly, and you need to be within range to see anything with it.
Team up with some buddies, and this thing starts to look really good. You can help each other so not everyone has to build and deploy a DSP to a fixed location.

I do think though that if a dsp sees someone that is not yet in your com list that that player is added( happens when you send a dsp to someone you have and the dsp catches a neighbour of him that you don't have). If I am right about this then that would mean that an eye in the sky could act as a mobile investigation probe, although it only has a scan radious of 2( from my head).
