here is my suggestion if u want to bring in this new change....:
Make it so that the you can't go below zero during newbie protection...AND...either
A) increase newbie protection time
or
B) make it so that newbie protect must be 'switched off' manually but can be indefinite...however during this time newbies can only fight newbies and at simulator....and of course their score doesnt count on the player score lists _________________ Darkfire

good suggestion
one thing is really interesting and maybe problematic:
if it is more than 7 days, then some new accounts that were created and not used are abandoned before the protectiontime ends, so there will be much less abandoned inactive planets to attack for training and easy points
this would definitely change a lot, so i vote for 4 days, cause thats not a problematic change
we can think later about the other options |

What a wonderful idea!
Give indefinite protection that must be manually removed. Allow fleets under protection to fight each other with no scoreboard impact.
It's perfect... newbs can fight each other but are impervious to regular players.
When they want to join the game, they click on the box and join regular play. |

ofcourse, to stop abuse of this, once they enter regular play their score will be reset to zero.
.
I see one other major abuse: u can stay in newbie protection but research everything u want in safety....so indefinite newbie protection might be bad....but a longer protection time might be ok _________________ Darkfire

nope 2 days is enough , if you are in protection mode can't attack , so how would you learn the game by doing nothing in battle ? _________________ Greetz Connor

If players that are in the newb alliances were protected from everone but themselves, they could hit dead accounts or each other as long as they wanted. The "dead" accounts would be protected also from regular players running up their score. If a new player wanted to join the regular ST players, they would just have to check the box to end protection.
The Dead accounts remain off limits for regular players.
This would look after newb bashing, allow newbs to fight with each other and prevent artificially high scores made off of the dead accounts by regular players |
