Hello!
What about the possibility to set way-points for your fleets.
E.g. I want to attack an enemy but it is shorter to use the transwarp gate of an ally and then fly to the enemy.
Would be great if the fleet could do this automatically.

the transwarp-network is supposed to be a defense-network
if you want to misuse it for attacks, you have to live with the disadvantages |

But if I want to defend my friend and I know via dsp that there is a fleet of an enemy exactly 9 sectors away. I could attack it only by the TWN and by some way-points.
I think the idea itself is good!

it will take some organize from the player...
but the case may accure that the fleets is more intelligent than its commander:
what if the fleet takes a shortcut over a transwarp, when even its commander doesnt no that there actually IS a transwarp connection ?
--> it might be even the case that the transwarp is destroyed on half the way by some evil enemy with causes a longer way than necessary...
as the case u descripe is an attack case too i would better state a defend case:
i want to defend my pal on his planet and want to fly the shortest way towards him - then its defence case (right, admin ?)
so i think its a good idea, but there atre some
"if"s and i dont know how hards it is to program this..?
another question is, whats comfort and whats automatisation...
-> to be nasty: why cant my fleets selfdecide to defend my pal, when i am not online?

I think youre right in saying it'd be difficult to program!
I think that it all had to manually programmed so you can say first go to x/y/z and then go a/b/c and then back to base if youre alive.
I think it depends on how much our admins would like to work

I also thought about an manual auto-pilot.
So you can say your fleet fly first to x/y/z and then to x/y/z.

haha should be from x/y/z to a/b/c i think ?
but that's a good suggestion though...
i would appreciate if the admins could realize that
maybe a delayed action too
so that i can start my fleet late at night to some players i don't like |

i still think it would be mainly used for attacks and has not much use for players who want to defend. so it might not be profitable for the gameplay.
and indeed, it is a big problem to program that.
we had the idea too in our planing phase, so we keep it in mind for later rounds maybe |

what if it was made with a disadvantage with TWG.
a dual waypoint system with a delay.
jump to x/y/z
manually set time delay
jump to a/b/c
it could be used either as a defense or as an offense tool.
then it would have a disadvantage if it was used to jump thru a twg then to an opposing players bases for an attack, because you would have to manually move your fleets after they battled. seeing as you would use your 'time delay' at your alliance member's twg. _________________ Trippin' Thru the Galaxy,
