Limiting the use of Multiple Accounts on 1 IP

I have seen a 'loop-hole' trend within the Gaming World... the one where there is multiple people proclaimed to play from 1 IP... In my previous game we implemented a rule specifically to limit the abuse of this loophole...

the rule implemented was:

If more then one account was played by various owners from the same IP they were permitted to play the game but not with the same alliance...

This rule encouraged more player counts but limited the chances of cheating... I again have seen this and trust me it works...

I doubt any current ST player would have an issue with this ... with the exception of DavAlan and Rose... but this is ultimately up to Admin and how much he cares about this game...

i disagree. a multy in spacetrace would mainly have extra accounts to give cheap points to his main (multifarming), not so much to make a multy alliance. so same IP's should not be allowed to be in the same alliance nor be allowed to fight eachother.

I think senors idea is better, there should be atleast a 'ban' of hitting eachother if you have the same IP. Because multies in this game will sooner try and make points of a multy account. Me and my brother played in the beginning with the same IP adress, we started in the same alliance, never hit eachother and after a while we were also in different alliances( an alliance with only newbies isn't that succesfull )

when i started the game, i started it with good friends of me. (unfortunately they don´t play anymore)
so i visited often their home (and their IP). of course we talked much about ST and logged on from the one or the other computer. same IP different accounts. i think this cannot be forbidden.
if we need a rule then this kind of IP share has to be allowed.

I think if you were to impliment this there should also be restrictions on households attacking together for example we dont want poor billy to be attacked by mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, nan, grandad, pet dog, pet cat and goldfish and i think it shouldnt be too strict however i mean it is safe to say that renee and dave are two different people from the same house and as long as we are aware of this they should be allowed to play in fair cooperation
