time-warp probe

this probeĀ“s capabilities far exceed that of any other; it can travel so fast that it almost travels backwards in time. the only downside to this probe is that technology like this takes a long time to build.

scanradius: 10

speed: transwarp 50

researchtime: 7 d
buildingtime: 1 d

nanite-technology
needed research:
improved computer technology

I just don't like it, I mean, good idea, but, I don't like it. Reasons:

Transwarp 50 is original, but who on earth is going to spend 7 days researching that?

Think of it this way:

Investigation Probe: Research time, 8h (1/3 of a day, 1/21 of a week).
Buildtime, 4 hours - Total - 12h (1/2 day)
Speed: Warp 10
Time to travel 10 sectors: 2h 30min

time-warp probe: Research Time - 7d, Building time - 1d, Total, 8d
Speed: Warp 50
Time to travel 10 sectors: 30min

Investigation Probe Total time to travel 10 sectors - 14h, 30mins
time-warp probe Total time to travel 10 sectors - 8d, 30min

It doesn't take a chess player to work out what to go for. However, you only have to research it once, so after then, it may work better. Is it like a DSP though?

we already have the scout probe (warp 20, scanradius 1) for those quick scans that are needed sometimes. adding this would make the scout probe obsolete and be seriously ungroovily unbalanced anyway.
