Hi;

I have been doing some simulations in Excel with kamis.
But results vary a lot depending on a couple of suppositions that I am not sure about:

Look at the following extract from an imagined battle order:


k(n) e(m)
k(n+1) e(m+1)
k(n+2) e(m+2)
k(n+3) e(m+3)
etc, where k=kami, e=enemy and n and m are the numbers in the battle order. Let's assume that the e´s die each time a kami fires on them (destroyers for example).

Now, let's say k(n) fires on e(m). k(n) will destroy itself, and 2 other ships in our c1. For ease of analysis, all our c1 is kamis.

Now, the question is:
will e(m) fire back first? Which ship will it fire on? k(n), k(n+1) and k(n+3) are possible candidates as far as I can see.

If e(m) gets to fire back, and fires on k(n+3) (without k(n+3) getting a chance of its own), then 4 times as many kamis as enemies are required to destroy the enemies in that sub-battle.
If e(m) does not get to fire back, and it is instead e(m+1)'s turn, things are the same. since e(m+1) will kill k(n+3) which will not be allowed to fire. So 4/1 balance there also.
If e(m) does fire back, but fires on k(n) or k(n+1), then it is definately better, since they die anyway. This is 3/1 balance.

It gets a bit more complicated if you mix in standard c1s, and even more if you mix in blockades, but all in all, it is basically the question of 4 to 1 or 3 to 1 with variations.

I have assumed that when k(n) self-destructs, it takes k(n+1) and k(n+2) with it to the grave...

So, anybody know the answer?

I always base it on that. I'm certain about it, but when you look at the kami's battle syntax, on it's turn, it destroys 2 other c1 ships in your fleet, so since those are gone, obviously they don't get to either attack or get attacked right?

I tried it out.

it's 4 to 1.

It seems that the kamis self-destruct, and destroy 2 buddies.
_Then_ the normal stuff happens, the kami kills the enemy, and the enemy fires back as usual.... not! The clever enemy somehow sees, before fire is actually exchanged, that those three kamis are self-destructing. So it fires on number 4 I guess.

Zenchi and you are right... kami get his turn destroy or fire at one enemy and destroy then 2 ships...

This is what happens, kamikaze 1 fires at enemy 1, thus self destructing and destroying 2 other kamikaze. Only then does enemy 2 fire at kamikaze 4. The first 3 have already been destroyed, no need for the enemy to be smart, he cannot fire on kamikaze 1-2-3, has to fire at 4 as 1-2-3 are already destroyed

Just to remind you all kamikaze kill any ship in your c1 not just kamikaze...so its good to mix them with some other ships.

didn't know that blkd runners could resist kamis!!
can you explain why? it makes no sense...
blkd has : (1/2)
kami has : (35/1)

''this heavy armored fighter is immune against some ships, like the interceptor and spectre...'' ...cause they inflict only 1 damage...

It cannot be modified the way kamis do that to destroy ships. Blockade is also immune to forinstence cyclops.

no, because it has a trigger against modifiers. trigger@_plus and trigger@_destroy or something like that. but kames do regular damage, so kames can kill blockades
i think guest meant that if you have blockades mixed with kames in your fleet then kames won't destroy your own blockades. very useful. never thought about it this way.
