Im a very old and hardly ever heard of player.
Most people no me from the balrogs and hells angels of vietnam
i was the one who let 50+ members join.

But my point is when i starting playing 6 years ago there wasnt anything like the credit system. I think its crap and pointless. I also cant get my head round it. I quit 3 years ago and so much as changed and the only player i reconise is Blackmagic* of Shadowball* and the old MasterHunters alliance which i hardly liked except a few players.

I agree the current credit system is a bit lacking...

I always figured that just complaining about something isn’t going to get anything done. So I’ll give a quick suggestion on how to make it better.

1st, Do away with the whole thing.
Especially the concept of only allowing players that have been voted as "noob helpers" to be able to make wormholes,
and permanently put wormholes on All prewarp planets.
Then create a ship or basic research that's needed in order to use the wormholes, if need be...

Letting everyone put in a com-list avatar would be nice too.

That's just my 2¢'s worth

The credit system is good and well, however I would agree with your point if you said that the credit system could be advanced. I'm not sure if you have seen yet, but you can buy things useful to yourself and your alliance with credits, such as a MTWG, or you can invent a technology with them. Credits have many advantages to the game and encourage people to 'invest' and play the game. The problem is, there is not enough things you can do with them; I would suggest a 'vote = 1 credit' or a 'highest pointgainer of the week', which would at least use credits to a bigger advantage.

As for you identity; I've looked back in forum posts.. worked out the history of spacetrace. I've heard of jazzy, lemba, Lord Philmon, but I've never met them, only heard of them. Tell me, what was your previous forum account's name?

I think giving credits a "bigger advantage" is a horrible idea
I dont want to s,crew with them,
so I dont want to be s,crewed if I dont go hurry up and collect em.

Hello , I would like to know your former name also . And the creditsystem isn't really that important in the game , so why bother about it

Well how the system and if it work...

Have you look at the player count? Try this time to get 50 Players in one alliance... when you get 50 Players you have howl Spacetrace....

The system was thought as motivation to support Spacetrace ... invite new Players go active in the game and use some things (Planet Picture etc.) ... easly more attractive...

Look at the Player counts... i won´t work -_-

the credit system is a very nice thing in theory.

you get credits for:

a: inviting new players to the game, which is probably the most important aspect of it, but it doesn't work that well. maybe could be improved. dunno if the problem is mechanical (all invites go to spam folders or don't get sent at all etc.) or players are not motivated enough.

b: helping new players, which's iportance i think i don't have to even mention.

c: uploading pictures for your planet, which makes the game a bit more interesting for everyone and helping commit new players to the game.

d: supporting the makers of the game by buying stuff. i don't see nothing bad about that.

some aspects of the system could function better, but i think overall it's a good system. and as conner said it doesn't really affect the gameplay, so it doesn't debalance the game.

also i second conners question about your former forum account. maybe i've seen you around in 2003.

anyway, good to have you back, hope you stay.
