I think I like the teritorial aspect of having pre-warps working for you somehow.
Territory means raiders, trespassers and other alliances trying to steal your territory for...point gain?
Like holding the black hole?
A different type of score like hunt score?
Something completely different?
To see territories on a map and flying through other alliance territories
or getting permission before entering alliance held territories and alliance built WH's within their terrotory to help them defend it.
And I could go on and on...sounds like a blast and more excuses to fight over something

so many cool ideas, and I just brainstorm along. when you start to expend your space kingdom, you should have ranks like worker admiral king and it should show in the stats, there should be new buildings like a spacewall that isnt easy to get through, only so your kingdom wont be destroyed too easy and it can grow. reason for that, new teams will form to bring the kingdom down by all means, sort of like our loved borg empire, so try to build the biggest empire lol. The probe data should have some fancy symbols and something fresh. and I love the idea of that showing in the 3d map. You might as well implement your creature thing on those planets or something fresh like aliens. a race. If everything has been said already, my bad, just a first thought

it's quite cool. i think it is quite easy to add a mod to fit it into spacetrace.

I downloaded it and played it. It's way too fast for a tactical shooter.... I don't know if you can adjust the game speed in that mod but I will appreciate it.

it is a mixture between FPS and RTS, so the goal is the destructon of the enemy respawn abilities, which can be done too fast normally.

Its not a bad RTS/FPS... it might be a bit fast at first but once you play a while you get used to the speed..

and there are mods for the game.. if you make a server youll be able to adjust some minor things..

They don't recycle (like the WH explorer does) after use so, you can use (and reuse) one for as long as you have it out there
And, while it is self warp, you can put it in a fleet (speed will be the fleets speed though) and use it on your way to targets.
I started by building 3 of em sending them off in 1 fleet (3 CS's ...lol) figuring they would recycle after laying down a colony but, that was totally un-neccessary.

BTW-DO NOT TRY TO PICK UP SHIPS OFF A PREWARP WITH A CS !!!

I just forgot, made that mistake and "froze" my CS (a self-warp ship can not move with other non-warp ships the fleet with it....*doh*) way out there.

OH well...gotta retrieve it the hard and slow way (with an ms) and looks like I will be colonizing alot more in the process of doing this as I pass about 2 dozen pre-warps getting there and back.

I have been using my colony star to discover new planets, I have about 7 that have not been discovered. If you see a planet discovered by Evil Daves Basement of DOOM!, know that I was there.

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but here's a simple, fair and easy idea for a captured colony.
When you capture a colony you should have the ability to build an "Observational Sensor Relay" (OSR). The OSR will take 2 days to build and when it is built it will:

* Act as a SETI Scan, giving you Investigation Info for 10 Sectors
* Will act as a constant DSP for 10 sectors
*Be destroyed if the colony is taken by a rival alliance

Hey no way. It was funny for the little children but get your hands of our game. Giving them probe, technology or point rewards would destroy it.

SpaceTrace is about being smarter, faster, more innovating than the enemie.
