Dont you think that all of the smaller alliances should just group 2gether because they are never going 2 get any wheren with the big alliances around? At least if they group 2gether they will have a fairly large alliance that can defend itself better and also attack better. This should be common sense!! Ive looked at the alliance list and thiers so many little alliances its amazing!! Dont they realise that grouping together would benifit not only themselves but also thier alliance?!

yeh but these players are basically fighting a losing battle without the support they need from a stronger alliance. All these players that make 1 player alliances arent really in a alliance either meaning they are just power hungry and are trying to forfill dreams that just aint going to establish! If there are to many 'so called alliances' there is eventually going to be a big war with no real sides, carnage! Anyone with any real sense would try join thier alliances with other players alliances!

A lot of players like to play solo. Some players despise large alliances and as Mighty said, Large alliances are foten disorganised, vulnerable to espionage, and as a result can be weaker than a highly organised, experienced four man group.

Basically it works like this:
4 noob c3 spams vs. 1 small vet fleet with a mixed c1 = 4 dead noob fleets (+10k points lost) and 1 vet (with most of his c1 left and a 10k point gain).

About 18 months back...

whlist everyone is beating down the idea of a huge alliance.. ill stick up for them..

First off, you learn better (round message brs, more people to work with, etc..)

-then you got the huge TWN to get anywhere you want in a matter of a couple of hours..

-then lots of people know when your getting attacked and can come to defend you in the time of need..

-also should i mention you have a lot of people on your team? You could organize massive attacks

-then the information you could gather from all the dsp, investigation probes and what not..

just sayin.. its not all bad..

I enjoy both large and small alliances. It is very difficult to get a large, regular log-on, experienced alliance. I'm sure, even then , people forget to turn off their attack code when visiting the MTWG on occassion.

Large newb alliances are difficult to manage on the start but it gets easier as experience grows.

When a large alliance is effectively used, people cry gang-bangers, and make such a fuss, people are reluctant to practice co-ordinated strikes except at the score planets.
When TO made it's appearance, it was a large alliance of regular, experienced players.
As there is starting to be more experienced players in ST besides the TO "regulars", there is the talent available to put together a viable counter alliance team I think
Would anyone be interested in another GRAND WAR in the event TO was to make an appearance ?
TO against the best "new generation" of players that ST can field ?
I'll post this idea in another thread.
