Should we be allowed intercept fleets?
Yes, sounds good.

No, it is too much of a disadvatage for players.

I think it would be pretty cool if we could intercept fleets.
That means however, that when we see PLANET SENSORS, revealing to us that there is a hyperjumpgate occurring at a neighbouring planet in say, 4hrs, you have the option to intercept the attacking fleet by clicking a button.

I think that if this is put into the game that there should be some major drawbacks though. For example, you should only be allowed intercept fleets from your planet, in other words only fleets based at your planets may intercept fleets.

Also, If YOU have incomings you may not intercept that fleet as that would completely screw up the game and make it pointless to attack bases.

So basically:

1. You may intercept fleets that are passing your planet or are targeting an area close enough to your planet that it may be read by your planetary sensors. However, you may only intercept the said fleets if your intercepting fleet originates from your homeworld.

2. You may not intercept fleets that are attacking your planet.

You likey?

It is #2.
- It wouldn't be fun.
- Then you would have to make like 20 course transfers to reach a target just because you might be passing by somebody's planet and don't intend to fight him.

its not but this topic has been argued about several times the main problem is that in between every coodinate there is points of numbers for example if a fleet says its at xxx/xxx/xx its also at xxx.xx/xxx.xx/xx.xx so you would need to get to the point before it moves out of it the same problem occurs when trying to merge fleets together

i always thought that a hyper warp gate meant that your ship was in another "dimension" as it traveled to its destination and therefore could not be intercepted by ships that were not in its "dimension."

Aside from that it would just be a pain in the ass to possibly fight a ridiculous amount of people on your way to any destination.

Maybe then you could have it a limit. To intercept the player must be within 5 sectors of your base?

NO! You've played this for over a year, and are you still that stupid?
Yes young and ignorant and annoying but stupid?

It doesn't fit the concept of this game, besides you can't use it. This is a 3d game, and coordinates are calculated in factors like 0,001. So the chance you are at the same place as somebody else and you can intercept him is nearly impossible.
