So it is a dreadnought with double manpower, reduced possibilites and warp?

To be corrrect I absolutely dont like these ships that give their own warpfields. They are harldy used.

Most people just use 2 or 3 fleets with ms and loads of other ships that fit with others, these ships are only usefull alone which is waste of 1 spare fleet and with this ship it is suicide to send it off alone.

Only doomstars are usefull alone, and then it is still easy to recognise. Better have that one with another fleet and synchronise at last moment.

Anyways, this one wont be used at all.

whos gonna use it? it would be killed of instantly, its a nice name etc.. and i can see you put somethouht into it, it could be better just modify it abit

Actually, I love to use ships that create a warpfield only for themselves...

I would also like to see a heavy hitter, maybe a class three, that creates a warpfield for itself, but this is not the one.

I wonder if we could create a ship that only creates a warpfield in class three, or two, or one.

This ship would be a whole new story if it could create a warpfield only for other class three ships, hey? I think that idea would have potential.

Well considering a warp field for only one class type would be a bit too powerful...for example someone with a class 2 fleet needs to have class 2 and minimal class 4 someone could put 1 class 2 and appollos to stop a direct battle hence firing all on the mothership...with only class 2 this isnt possible hence too strong

Well yeah, DK, of course it would be too strong, however, there are always ways to create balances.

Say we are talking about a class two ship that provides warp for class two only. The following points are true of the fleet:

1. It will likely win against class three, but not certainly. Surely, if the defender has class two, their class three (apollos, etc.) is useless. With direct class two vs class three, ample Apollo cover would win for the class three.

2. It can easily be countered by class one, and even up against class two. There would be no way to provide cover against class one.

The "class two limited warp" ship would provide another balance in itself, in one of the following ways:

1. High MP- This is probably the best balancer. If this ship was destroyed, the rest of the fleet has to make up a lot of points to cover.

2. No warp ship protection- Since the warp ship is within the fighting class, there is no way to protect it, leaving it likely to strand your fleet.

3. Limited combos- since the fleet can only have one class, it cannot share the benefits of other class ships, such as; Sporators, hammers, evap protection, mine deployers, cloaking ships, holo fleet carrier, etc.

So I say that it would have huge benefits, but also huge disadvantages. Other limitations can be added, such as limited range, slow speed, etc.

This is just something I thought of off the cuff. I did not put a lot of thought into the initial idea yet, so these statements are fairly raw.

Actually, now that I think of it, a "class limited warp" ship replicates the controversial "drop method". I think this could be a safe way to bring it back. I used the drop method extensively, and Gorth actually countered it once, and beat my dropped class two with a class three.

This really isnt the topic for this, I should probably just create a ship and put it in. I dont even know if this subject has been discussed before.
