Today I just was bored and startd to read old topic's I found one topic that goes about Wormholes.
I think it was/is a great idea that there will be wormholes that lead from the 400/000/00 and 600/000/00 to the 200/000/00 and 700/000/00 because that part of the galaxy isn't in use so if there would come one or two scoreplanets with a wormhole that connects the different parts of the galaxy then more players will go to the new scoreplanets and there will be more points to get and more parts of the galaxy would be used.
My question now:
Why is this suggestion declined is it because it would take to much work or isn't it a good idea

well, if a wormhole was at 700/000/00 it would prob take a month to get there, but if i would be placed a lil closer, than i would think it would b a great idea
Or if there was a fast way to get there
Well, it wouldn't take a month but it would take a while _________________ PWNAGE!

No you don't get it. there would be a wormhole between the 400's and the 600's and that wormhole would be connected to another wormhole that is or in the 200's or in the 700's
or there would be more wormholes offcourse |

Research: planet engineering<br>- enables to move your base (maybe only 1, 2 or three times in the game)
- enables to build TWG drones, which can establish TW Gates on pre-warp worlds
- enables to establish production centers on pre warp worlds
- enables to built \"beam points\" on a pre warp worlds or/and your base (beam points needs a start point and a ending point. If someone is sending his fleet through a start beaming point he will be immediatly transfered to the ending point. After the transfer the start and ending point destroys itself) Beam points can not be installed at abandoned planets, the free room or in a radius of 4 hours around inhabited worlds. |
it would be a nice name
we still have wormholes in mind, but still not sure how to implement it |

Admin, think of it simply (thats alot coming from me as I'm very omputer ignorant) But anyway, to implement wormholes, simply put a "transwarp network" at say, 400/400/40, which connects to another TWG AT SAY, 250/250/25, and then what you do is, if a fleet reaches one TWG, it will travel to another twg at transwarp 99, it will be so fast that it would be like travelling through a wormhole. _________________ Calvin: I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius.

This idea has been around for ages, and nearly implemented I think at least once, I made some suggestions ages ago, cant find em but essentially it meant you had to wait half an hour for translation from one to the other. This meant the possiblity of battles. And for capturing of said worm hole.
But I think there are numerous exciting possiblities with worm holes. Questing for instance.
First you need tech to detect worm holes, we take it for granted that there are several out there but are as yet unable to find them.
Lets say there are 5 detectible wormholes in populated space.
4 lead randomly to each other, the other takes you to the unexplored part of the galaxy.
But why go there? Well because there is fabulous new tech and research to be discovered there, you just need to send a probe through the worm hole and then go questing. Perhaps riddle like messages as to the location of the tech could be place on planets in the questing galaxy.
I thought some of the tech could be a cheap fast mothership research.
and a one off population booster, say 100 mp once only.
Whatever there is, it ought to be worth the trouble of looking for, and could give players something else to do apart from battle, new players might like this aspect.
In the old round days, a new tech would be placed on a planet and the planet named in forum, I think the interceptor tech was found on enbieda.
I think the wormholes could add an exciting new aspect to the game, with no disadvantage to those not interested. _________________ Space Mercenaries Inc.

Ah, yes!
Here it is, my idea about wormholes ignore the part about the 200 points though.

i think it's a very good idea butt i think that 700/000/00 would be to far
maybe if it's a bit closer than i shoudn't take that much time to get there
butt i think it's a very very good idea
and i ask again if somebody's looking for an alliance join 'the megas'

there will open a new wormhole now in about 20 hours at these planets:
from NanoPyros 488/494/44
to Keverland 437/499/47
your fleets will be travelling 100 times the normal speed (so a Mothership will travel with transwarp 500) but the entrances are guarded by two apostate spheres.
so if anyone dares to attack them, their fleets will just vanish.
if you use the wormholes with your fleets on defense, they will let you pass |

So even if you have an attack code on your fleets will be destroyed? |
